Hey guys,
I was looking into renting games online (ala gamefly etc...) and I was wondering on many peoples experience through an online rental service,
I am in Canada, so by way of searching, there only seems to be gameaccess.
How are the wait times? do you normally get the game(s) you want? are the discs in good condition? etc...
If you have any experience with one North of the border (Canada) let me know, and if you have used an online rental site in general, some input would be great.
Thanks

anyone? No one has tried gamefly in the US or any other similar type of online rental site?
I am looking for Canadian experiences, but any will do.

I live in the US, and currently am using Gamefly. It seems decent, probably the best in the market for online game rentals. It's slow though, and I can probably only get one game a week if that. I still like it, and having just got it, plan to boost my score lots with it.

I rent games and movies in Canada through a company called Canflix (www.canflix.com (http://www.canflix.com)). They are cheaper than renting from a movie site and gaming site seperately. I live in Ottawa and usually have a 3-4 day turnaround from the day the mail is picked up to the arrival back at canflix. They have two shipping centres, one in Brampton and one in Calgary.
As far as selection goes they have 199 Xbox 360 titles listed and about 185 actually in their inventory, you can request titles to be added if they don't have them in their inventory The wait can be a little long for new releases, but they generally have a good selection of older titles available.
I have been very happy since I signed up with Canflix a the beginning of September and highly recommend them as a Canadian online rental company for games, movies or a combination of both.
If you have any other questions I'd be happy to answer them the best I can.

I'm from the U.S but I have been using gamefly as of late. Most people I know including me are quite happy with their online service and get a 3-5 day turn around. As for the discs condition I have had no problem except maybe a quick clean off before putting in the console.

I just started using Gamefly again but I recall over the summer they sent me a cracked disc...I guess I'm just unlucky.

It's kind of slow for me, but I guess it has to do with where the shipping plants are in relation to where you live.

They have a new system that sends you a new game before yours gets to them giving you about 5 days from the day you ship till the next game shows up which is nice. I've been very happy with my service as of late. Good game selection and there is always a "keep it" option letting you rent to own for surprsingly good prices.

thanks for all of the input. I might take a look at that canflix.
For all, how has it been as far as wait times go for games you actually want? ex new games.... if you were to add CoD4 or NFS:PS to your list at top priority, what is the likely hood of you getting it fairly quick?

It is worth it for me, but I live in Portland, OR. It is a 3 mail days from shipping to my mailbox, they have a fast return system, but it is inconsistent, so turnaround ranges from 4-6 days, and it is rare to get a new release. Better than your alternatives for 23 bucks a month, and good deals on used games.
Living outside the US, you may need to pay postage, but it is better than a brick and mortar store.

I'm assuming you're talking about Gamefly, and that's what I'm experiencing too. Very slow shipback times. I'm considering switching to my local Hollywood Video, which rents games five bucks per, I think. Only if they have a wide selection though, and its unlikely.

I use Gamefly. Heck, I signed up on a weekend right before Christmas and still got my first two games in only 4 days. That really impressed me. Honestly, I use it simply because of the 'no late fees.' My wife, friends, and myself are always late returning movies/games. If we add our video store cards together, we probably have about 200.00 in late fees on them. We wince everytime they scan a card.
