*** I had to include a special note to explain this choice. Anyone who has ever fired a shotgun will understand this choice and explanation. It seems that on videogames the shotgun is truly a masterpiece of metal which gets the perfect in game physics. Who among us didn't rejoice in finding that shotgun hanging on the wall on the first Resident Evil. How many of us enjoyed aiming at a Zombies knee cap and blowing it off, then allowing him to crawl close before blowing his head off.

I don't know how the hell I forgot Doom. Maybe it was the Jack at age 16 but you know the first time I played the game and let off on a demon and watched his splattered body hit the wall I threw up... nahhh couldn't have been the Jack it's perfect.

It was that damn pizza from the party two night prior that was still in the basement.

Any parents reading this never, and I mean never leave your children home alone for a week when they've turned 16, I don't care how responsible they are they just aren't to be trusted at that age.

The grav gun is an amazing weapon! The ability to throw the scenery at on screen enemies is enough to make that gun top :D

I have to agree with Quicksilver, shotguns RUIN games. It creates an parallel weapon which creates imbalances in game strategies. Like shogun in Halo 2. Yes, it kills sword, but the reason sword was put in was because it was a cool idea, and was supposedly supposed to blance out the shotty. It didn't.
DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON GOW.
And yes, stinkyfire, I do recognize that the Halo 1 pistol is, indeed, awesome.

OK, I put mucho thought into this and here is my top 5 in descending order:

5- The Shotgun Battleaxe from Darkwatch (This one's for Hyper magazine, it was last generations Chainsaw Bayonet I reckon)
4- Kratos's Chain Swords from God of War (this close to 8-bit theatre's infamous SWORDCHUCKS, fighter would approve)
3- Anal Probe from Destroy All Humans (so intense their heads explode, tasty)
2- Conker (anyone who's played Bad Fur Day knows the little guy's a weapon in his own right)
1- ANY CAR IN BURNOUT! (you know it's true, not often that a racing game turns out to be one of the best action games on a machine)

*special mention to the disc for Bomberman Zero, the game was so shit it could only be used as a frisbee, and that could totally take your eye out.

You do actually have a point there, though the crossbow off Half life 2 was missed aswell. You guys can say it was just me who had fun turning the cheats on a nailing a guard to the bridge via his pelvis among other rather brutal nailings to things on that game. But yeah, exploding locust from anything between 50 and 500ft was amazingly cool

1- The fire/dynamite bows off GUN... bow and arrows rock shame every other game with them in makes them crap.

2- The snipers off Call of Duty 2... if you ask me, they are the most perfected snipers I have ever seen on a game, except maybe the one that slows down time on Resistance: Fall of Man on the PS3.

3- The real Megabuster off DEAD RISING; because of the achievement involved and because it KICKS ZOMBIE ASS, and because my all time favourite little blue guy is megaman =p

4- The Desert Eagle on practically every game, just cos its cool.

5- The psychic powers off Second Sight.. I love that game

Also any game that can have ragdoll physics cheats and nailgun cheats like Freedom Fighters, piss funny lol
