360 launch

When the 360 launched, did you know you were gonna get a 360 or did you decide to get it sometime after. When the 360 launched I went 'meh' but when the price of the PS3 was revealed I thought oh what the hell and I'll get the 360 with Gears for a cheaper price. And I did indeed. So what are your 360 buying stories?

I went to the store picked the box up brought it to the counter with 3 games that i wanted as well then bought it. I know what your thinking what a great ass story but that agsacally as i remember it

I knew that I was going to get one. Took me a while to find one. Had to pay somebody to stand in line for me while I was at work. It was worth it though.

No I want the "revolution" yea what it was called back then. I did have the original xbox. After a while I need more then just the Wii fix so around April I bought a 360 for my online needs. Got it with Gears and MLB 2k7.

I got mine after seeing how much fun my friends was. I got it a year ago. I got it with Just Cause, WSOP and Pimp my ride. I thought Pimp my ride was going to be good, but it sucked...

I had the original XBOX and every since that I've been converted. Had to wait till christmas (the one straight after launch) to get one (due to needing christmas money) and then tried to get one but couldn't. So i scoured ebay for one but couldn't get one, I even tried German ones, but then had to put my name on a pre-order list from Game. Luckily i was first on the list and got it soon after :> Hooray!

I bought mine at launch with Elder Scrolls and Perfect Dark Zero from my local EB games. No great story there I guess, other than the fact that I still havn't beaten PDZ yet.

Anyway here is mine its pretty random. When the 360 was launched I worked for Game so I had preordered it months before. The night before launch I was out drinking cos I had the launch day off (I demanded it lol). So I woke up at 7am (2 hrs sleep) to go to my work for 2 things, 1 - keys to open up, 2 - my 360. I was so hungover and still drunk I just flung clothes on over my jammys and left.

I arrived at work stinking of booze and staff asking what the hell I was wearing, anyway I bought my 360 with Perfect Dark, Condemned and PGR3 extra controller and VGA cable, It took me ages to put it through the till, customers started talking to me and looking at me funny, I couldnt be arsed it was my day off so I just walked away lol. Apparently also that morning I said to a customer she could buy one when we were preordered out lol she was pissed... kinda like me that day :p

I got mine to put this way to cocky gamer score whore in my town in his place. I smashed his measly 20k in like a month. I'm over 100k now and he's still at 30k. After I beat him I was hopelessly addicted to gamerscore.

I knew I was going to get it. I had a lot of fun with Halo 2 on Xbox, why wouldn't I get a 360? I was going to wait a year so all "hardware" problems could have been sorted out, but they weren't sorted out in a year. Got a 360 November of '06.

i never thought i'd be able to afford one, but i managed to save a few hundred dollars, sold all my old stuff, and been doing fine ever since. what really made me want one though, was playing cod 2 & doa 4 on my friend's 360 before i got mine.

I too was deciding about the same time, just as the PS3 was coming out. When I saw that price I was like hell no and decided on the 360. Asked for one for Christmas 2006, didn't get it and went out and got myself one the next day. Came with COD2 if I remember correctly, still a great game imo.

Seeing as how I refuse to stand in lines to get new games or hardware I simply called Walmart the following morning of the midnight launch and asked if they had any left over then I went to pick up a Core console with PDZ, PGR3, and Kameo. Nothing special, but I am very happy I picked it up at launch and have thoroughly enjoyed it since.

I was leaning towards a 360 as soon as all of the current gen consoles were announced. I waited to make a final decision until after the Wii and PS3's final specs and prices were announced. Once all the details were out I decided to go with the 360 and waited until boxing day since I knew it would be on sale, picked it up on boxing day '06.

I was going to get a PS3 but it got delayed for like the 4th time so I said screw it, and brought 1. I have never looked back though

I was so keen at getting it at launch and then must of fell asleep due to the 17 hour goodbye to Original Xbox games (KoToR series, Halo 2 etc.) and woke up at 10:30am and went straight there. The good part was there were no lines or screaming children.

I didn't even expect to get a 360. My buddy's dad won one at his work and my buddy didn't like it and only played it once or twice. So, he sold it to me for $200 and an iPod nano I got for free. It was my girlfriends old one, she gave it to me when she got the new one. Then the day I got it, I went out and bought Gears Of War. That's my, "How I got my 360 story!"

I pre-order mine as soon as ebgames.com let you do it. I had to get their bundle which ran for like $700. It came with charge kit, extra controller, PG3, Kameo, PDZ, and DOA4. I payed for overnight shipping and they shipped them a day before the release so I would get it the day of. I had to work all day that day and it was the longest day of my life. I kept thinking "When I get out I have to go home pick up the door tag notice and go to my local fed ex and pick it up" To my shock and horror they left the box in my front step! that you can clearly see from the streets and I got home around 8pm so there was plenty of time for somebody to steal it. I was so pissed that they would do that and happy at the same time because I didnt have to make the trip to fedex.

Anyways, here comes the good part.... I ran to the front steps as if somebody was chasing me, I was ready to tear that that box apart and connect it to my brand new 42" HDTV I had purchased just to play 360. So as I reached inside my right pocket for my house keys to open the door.... yup you guessed it! There was nothing there, I had left them at work! It was too late and too far to go back. So I had to wait till my brother came home at 10pm. So I sat on my front steps for 2 hours looking at my 360, opening all the games and reading the manuals. In those 2 hours I read every single piece of wrinting inside that box. It got to a point where I got the controler out and started admiring it (had only seen it in pictures) I was holding with both hands pretending to play.... yes I know it was a sad scene. Needless to say I didnt sleep that day and called in sick the next day.

I was looking forward to one ever since MTV had that preview of the 360. I finally got around to pre-ordering one in like September and what a mistake. I was like 67 on the list. So launch comes around and most stores had decent lines already outside of their stores but I wasn't really planning on camping, just getting up early to head out to Toys'r'us but I was like the 12th person when they only had 10. For the next month I was frequently checking the forums and other sites on when stores might be getting some in. Then I heard about the December 18th 'secret' shipment of Best Buy in which it was just like launch again. I was so excited and was ready only to find out that my parents wouldn't let me camp overnight. I did get to go about 2 hours before store opened but of course they didn't have anymore.

There were rumors about Best Buy getting smaller shipments during the week before Christmas so Thursday my dad and I go before they open about 10 minutes early and we were like 10th out of 8 available. The guy said they would probably have more the next day on Friday so my dad and I head out there again but about 30 minutes early and we see one of the guys who was there the other day who missed out too. I luckily was able to get one 2 days before Christmas! Sure was one exciting month though.

Got mine 2nd shipment. I always had PS2 and played Halo at my friends house, so I got a 360 just for Halo 3, but I don't even play halo that much, but it was still a good decision.

Well, it was pretty close. Close enough that I bought it as soon as it came out and it kept me from making any sort of decent progress on Perfect Dark Zero. Its true though, it wasn't available the day I got the Xbox, so that was my bad.

Sad thing was I never got Live until a year later on Valentine's Day 2007. That was when I started getting into the achievements because I heard that some people don't like to look at your gamercard if there were no dates by your achievements.

I got mine the day the 360 came out. I like sony because they do brake, unlike my 360 which has broken down more then Adam Archuleta in coverage. But the 360 has better games and Xbox live so thats why I got mine. I didnt have to wait in line, the mail man brought it to me.

I went to buya Ps3, everywhere was out. Beside a little use Video Game shop we have in my area. Call page 3 had one and they wanted over $1000 for the 20gb one and I like hell.. I just go and get Xbox 360 with 5 new games and only spent like $750. Also got a new Controller.

I had figured I'd be getting a PlayStation3 initially, since I had a PS2 previously. The biggest things that swung my decision were the price, my displeasure with the Sixaxis controller, and the fact that my roommate's PS3 looked like crap when he played it.

And with that, my 360 Pro Bundle is on its way! :-D

well mine is a little weird... The day I bought my 360 that was not my intentions though... I was going for the PS3 the day it launched... I went everywhere and no one had one so I went to EB Games/GameStop and told them I want a 360 I got that with NFL Blitz the league 1 week later I got Gears of war and Burnout revenge... and started loving the 360....

Also the thing about it is I never know about the achievement system... so when I started playing and it said achievement unlocked I didnt know what it was... when I found out what they were I fell in love...
