If what we’re hearing out of Saratoga, California is true, Xbox (http://javascript<b></b>:void(0)) 360 owners can expect to be playing motion sensing games, much like that of the Wii (http://javascript<b></b>:void(0)) or PS3, by the end of next year. The details are still sketchy, but it appears a first-party add-on to existing controllers may be the delivery method of the technology.

Story (http://xboxfamily.com/xf/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1107&Itemid=2) Sounds Awesome!

Not official, just more hearsay. What is official is Microsoft does own motion sensing patients, but everything stemming from that is pure speculation right now.

I don't see the need for motion stuff in the 360. PS3 tried it and failed, miserably...the Wii did and nailed it because the whole system is based around using it...I can't imagine 360 with it.

Yeah I agree with that. The PS3 motion sensing is just a gimmick at this point, and I can only imagine that being the case if they make a 360 add on. If they see how bad PS3 is doing with it, then why would they include it in their own console?

I doubt its going to happen.

I think the reason the PS3 included it was because of the lawsuit against their dual shock system by Immersion Corporation put them in a bind. It was either include some new motion sensing technology or just a controller with no added thrills other than it being wireless. Since they've resolved their dual shock dispute the new controllers should be coming out sometime between now and spring.

As for the 360, I don't see a need for it either, however I can see how it could be implemented in some game types. It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out and what comes of it all.

IF microsoft made it a totally seperate controller, not something incorporated into a normal controller like the ps3 that would be awesome. Then none of the developers would feel pressured to force it in (Lair? that was that dragon game right?) and make sucky games with it.

They could just bundle it with some Wiisports like games, sell the whole bundle for $50 and make a killing. I just don't want it in any of my other games.

I knew something like this would happen sooner or later, it was just a matter of time.

Don't iPhones have a backspace?

Anyway jaycarrell is about on the right track I think. It was mentioned a few months ago that MS was looking at doing different games to bring families into the gaming fold not just hardcore or casual gamers. Look at Scene IT?, that was bundled with its own specialized controllers. I figure MS might formulate a series of games that incorporate motion sensing technology, thats if they actually go forward and do this.

To my fellow gamers who have closed minds, its best you open them up now because you'll see a lot of different ideas become reality in the coming years; whether you like it or not. ;)

It was only a matter of time before they jumped the motion sensing wagon.. I remember reading an interview about how they wouldn't use motion sensing controllers b/c they felt they didn't need it.. Which they don't (except for Xbox Live Vision Camera..).

What ever happened to more games that utilize that Vision camera instead of 'omg lemme get pix my face in game wow i rul' besides TotemBall?

I see this being more work than it's worth, as well as us spending more money than needed. Unless it's mindblowing technology, I'm most likely not going to be getting it right away.

I see there being no need for this anytime in the future. People are already closeminded enough anyways to stay with their system. Chances of this bringing in a large crowd because of this doesn't seem likely.

I'll possibly get if it seems useful for the games it is compatible with, assuming it's limited to certain games.

they need to focus more on camera games. those games are so fun and they havent even made one game for it.(totemball doesnt count.)

This is great news. But most people (mostly sony and Ninty fanboys) will start to say that the 360 has copied off of them but who cares about them when we have the great games.

If I have to wave my controller at the screen in order to kill a Boomer in Gears of War 2, I'm not going to be happy!

They may have planned a motion sensing controller, but they've yet to plan a permanent solution the the RRoD problem... :(

Yea, a snowboarding one would be cool!

Anyway I dont think I would like motion sensing unless it is very suttle (like turning the controller for racing), because I am the couch emperor when I game.

As long as they don't shove it down my throat, I'm fine with this. Personally, I didn't care for it in either of the other two systems.
