I was just wondering, if you had to list only 5 games that changed your life and molded you into the gamer that you are today, what would you say they are?

1 - James Bond tomoorow never dies, it bought me and my best friend together because it was the first game we ever played together, and hes also the reason why i bought a 360

2 - resident evil 4, no one gets why its such a good game, my friends just go, oh what a loser he plays RE4 a shit game, but if they played it they'd understand, and plus they don't play video games, they're just emo kids, no offense to emo kids, because u guys are awesome, my friends aren't, except friend mentioned in point 1.

3 - Gears of war - 1st game ever played online and also first game ever completed on a 360 on all difficulties, and 1st game in general

4 - THPS got me into skateboarding

5 - Dead Rising - just an amazing game, made me buy a 360, when i was choosing a package deal for my 360, this was the 1st game i chose, didn'teven have to think about it.

Anyway, I think for me it was:

Diablo II (PC) - first game I really got into online gaming, and also played the thing into the ground for like 2 1/2 years
Goldeneye (N64) - We played this thing so much we started keeping our own stats--sort of our own achievements I guess
Zelda (NES)- first really epic game I remember playing all the way through.
Super Mario Brothers (NES)- First game I played a lot--I think that's what really got me hooked on video games
Street Fighter II (arcade) - might seem like a strange addition to the list, but I used to get my allowance on Sundays and go to 7-11 every Monday and drop every single quarter of it into this machine. I was ridiculously broke because of it, and couldn't even keep the cash for 24 hours.

Also a competitive/perfectionist gamer, i've spend weeks fully completing these games. All Platimun and online top 10 world rankings in TS3 (I think i'm still ranked in the top 10), All golds in Blast corps (this was a real pain in the ass) and i've participated in both the Tony Hawk (n-gage) and the MarioKart european championships (won a N-Gage skateboard and a 1000 bucks worth of clothing and for the MarioKart championship I've won a year free N64 games).

Also a competitive/perfectionist gamer, i've spend weeks fully completing these games. Showing my age a little here, but I've picked out no necessarily the best games, but the ones where they had the most impact to my gaming habits (in chronological order)

1) Pong (Atari) - my first gaming memory

2) Elite (BBC Micro) - Braben's classic original - first game I really got hooked on and spent an entire summer playing instead of going out and playing football

3) Doom (PC) - how I wasted hours in the campus computer centre playing this instead of doing my degree.

4) Goldeneye (N64) - I just got so addicted to this game - even now I don't mind playing it.

5) Viva Pinata (Xbox 360) - the one which turned me into a points whore, my first thousand and the first game that had me leaving the 360 on to get an achievement whilst I popped out to the shops. It's been a sorry tale of whoring ever since.

1. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I spent countless hours on that game. Beat it then erased that file, and beat it again. I did that 7 times, maybe more who knows.

4. Goldeneye: 007. First fps, and still one of the best fps there are.
5. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 or 1 idk which one. I wouldn't go outside to play with some neighborhood buddies because of this game. Of course i was made fun of but, man it was soo good! IT also introduced me to skateboarding i believe? And once again showed perfection within a sports title

Punchout for the Nes was always a favorite for me. Being the underdog in everymatch made me feel great when trampling over "Bald Bull, Super Macho Man, and other classic fighters" Also I still sometimes catch myself humming the music of the game itself. Especially the music while boxing, just to rich haha.

Mario Kart really started my competitiveness in video games. I remember a bunch of us would get together and take turns battling each other in what would seem like an all days' fun. Koopa Trooper FTW.

Link To The Past again was another classic that always had me glued to the screen. It was one of the first adventure games I had really enjoyed and liked to play over and over. Not only the fact that the Overworld music was good.

Resident Evil perhaps was one of the true games that really got me hooked into horror games. I remember playing this game one night and getting the living hell scared out of me by a Hunter that would suddenly pop up on screen.

Goldeneye was the perfect shooter for N64. Nothing could top it. Especially when four players squared off on the "Complex" map. I always chose the "Siberian Guard" as my character simply because I felt as though he was the fastest and could cut the corners really fast.

Anywho... Top 5.. Hrm.

1)Final Fantasy IV (SNES)- Really cemented my liking of RPGs. Also the first game I bought with my own money and didn't receive as a gift. :)

2)Tetris (NES... the Nintendo version, not the Tengen (I think) one, though that was cool too)- First game I bested my brother at. It was a big moment. Believe me.

3)Samba de Amigo (Sega Dreamcast)- I've always been willing to shell out on Rhythm Action games. This was just the start of it.

4)Bioshock (XBox 360)- Never imagined I'd own a Microsoft console. I've owned one for just about a month now and this game cemented to me why it was worth every penny.

5)Suikoden 2 (Playstation)- This is one game that, at almost any time, I can pick up and play all the way through and still love every minute of it.

2)WoW (PC): What can i say, at some point the community on there seemed better than IRL lmao, it just sculpted my entire mind for 2 solid years of playing (Pre 360)
3)Smackdown 2 (PS1): First ever fighting game to be taken seriusly, and made me much better at practically every game i ever played, as it was the first ever button grinder for me.
