When I find equipment, for the different classes of units, how do I equip them? The only way I've done it is through the merchant. I can't seem to figure it out?

There are several ways to do this...

Purchase from the Merchant, go to his weapons stock screen and choose a weapon you wish to purchase, if you now look over to the right hand side of the screen you will see the word...for example sword with either a green or red sword next to it

If the sword icon is green, then this weapon is better than the current one you have equipped

If the sword icon is red, then this weapon is worse that the current one you have equipped.

Press A on the weapon you want and it will ask you if you wish to equip the weapon, choose yes and you can equip it to any unit type that can use it..however you will need to purchase 1 weapon for each unit type, not just one to cover them all.

Alternatively you can occasionally find weapons on the battlefield in chests that are dropped, to equip these you must be in the Tavern, choose Status, choose books, Choose the solider type you wish to equip a weapon to.

Now in the particular solider group, for example swords, choose the unit type you wish to equip a weapon to, and then at the bottom of the unit page you will find a sword name, click A on it and you can choose to equip another sword..providing you have one available
