Games really just don't scare me. I remember back in the day when I was like 12 I played one of the Resident Evil games and it scared me shitless but other than that I can't think of a single one. People said Bioshock was scary but to me that was just an adventure game. RE4 wasn't scary. Dead Rising was just lots of fun. I guess I'm just desensitized too much.

Hands down, the original Silent Hill for the PlayStation. My friends and I would play it together, and only when it was night time. I'm not a huge wus, but there were a number of nights that the walk home turned into a frenzied run...

Fatal Frame (and the sequel)...scariest games ever IMO and I've beaten all RE and Silent Hill titles. They don't compare.

Most games aren't that scary. I jumped at parts of games like FEAR and Condemned. But the only game I can think of that was actually scary was Fatal Frame. I never finished it. Oh and Silent Hill is over-rated. The Silent Hill games had their creepy moments. But it was never really scary.

FEAR for PC. I was playing alone in my house at 1am. I actually turned off the computer and went to bed I was soo creeped out.

other than that Resident Evil 2 was pretty scary. Where they dropped that guy in the house with you and you can hear him walking around and then he comes crashing thru the wall!!!

Silent Hill and Doom are definately on my list. But I'd also have to say FEAR, some moments of GOW and BioShock, but in years past Resident Evil would make me sleep with my head under the covers.

I can remember renting the first Silent Hill with 3 of my friends and they were too chicken-shit to play it, so I got stuck playing it with them hiding their faces every 10 mins or so. It scared the shit out'a me, but I got through it.

This sounds gay but when MGS3 snake eater came out, i got freaked out alot when i would have to crawl through tunnel things and run into snakes that are about to bite you.. but that was a while ago, now i would say bioshock, some parts of gow and oblivion.

Silent Hill 2 was the only game to ever truely scare me. Seriously, I couldn't play it alone hehe.
The rest of the "horror" games were just surprises.

1.The first time i played Resident Evil 4, i was pretty scared.
2.Dead Rising wasn't really that scary but it had some parts that were really creepy and weird.
3.BioShock had a couple of scary parts.
4.One of the missions is Time Splitters 2 really freaked me out. I had to play it with the lights on all the time.
5.Gears also had some jumpy parts.

Doom 3 - Actually yelled and got nervous playing through the game, all that darkness
Gears of War - I was nervous hearing that weird language the grunts talk when i came around a corner, jus as bad in insane mode

Those are the only two games that really freaked me out. Fatal Frame had a really spooky ambiance to it, and the last 2 hours or so of Bioshock were just plain creepy.
But neither were really scary in my book.

Doom 3 scared me so much that I would have to take breaks occasionally and get away from it. Also, RE4 scared me a little bit. Other than that no other games have ever scared me much. I've never played Silent Hill before though so I may have to try that out and see if it's scarier than Doom 3.

I've never really been scared of any games I've played so I can't create a top 5 list. But I can tell you the only game I've ever played that scared the shit out of me. It was for the PC, it was called Blood. I was like 7 or so when I started playing that. Man if anyone here has played it you'll know that game was for no 7 year old... lol.

Other notables: Prey (creepy little kids), Bioshock (a few creepy parts), Cabelas Big Game Hunter 2008 (when the bear comes out of nowhere when you are climbing the wall made me jump), Beautiful Katamari (even though addicting, it was creepy you were rolling around picking things up and getting them stuck to your ball).

Now RE3 was creepy because of Nemesis, when he pops up out of nowhere.

RE1- Come on now I was like 8.

RE2 - Just scary at the rail car scene.

SH2 - Scariest game ever. :/

but scariest game ever is Pac-Man :) , especially when you get surrounded by all 4 ghosts.
