hey guys, i've been looking to get a new game since the OJ box came out, and i was wondering if this would be a buy or rent, i heard a lot of good things about it and it looks pretty smooth, but i also heard that the replay value is low so i'm kinda concerned and just wanting any opinions, thanks!

Definately a rent... im a big fan of FPS's and this one just doesnt bring anything new to the genre.... to be honest I actually find this game quite boring...story is not very immerisive and no multiplayer.....

See, I really enjoyed the story, and thought the game was relatively solid... but I'd still say rent. It's just not long enough to require buying it, and there's really no secrets to find or unlockables to get, so there's very little replay value... unless you didn't go for Hard on your first playthrough, and thus still need achievements out of it.

If only they'd had some hidden areas, or something worthwhile to do besides ganking the enemies, moving to the next barrier, rinse and repeat. I weep openly.

Definitely a rental. With Clive Barker being involved, I expected it to be scary as well as visually inventive but it really plays like an average FPS. The voicework is pretty lousy and even on hard, it wasn't that difficult. Other than going back to complete all the achievements, there isn't any replay value at all.

Agreed, rent it. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but as others have said, nothing new apart from gore levels perhaps. No replay value and all achievements can be got in 3 or 4 evenings if that's your thing.

Not that great of a game and very short. Evan one of clive barker's lovers would have a hard time buying this game to show their love for him. This one is a rental all the way.

I liked the game alot so i would definately say it is worth a rental. But its very short and has no replay value so there is really no reason to buy it as you could get all the 1000 in 5-7 hours.

As for the game fun, i think its fun to play different members of Jericho, use there special power etc, but because of that , much levels are very easy even on hard, only when you get separate and play a level with only one character it become a little harder. The thing is the game is a bit repetitive and not immersive when it come to horror. It goes like that...

Walk in a dark corridor with gory look
a member of your team tell you there monsters coming
keep firing til they are all dead
a member tell you its over
repeat...

So any feeling of fear is gone by the first hour you play it, and there is no multi path level, its always go straight, blast your way througt til the end...

On a replay value, well there only the weapons achievement and doing a level without dying that you may not get the first time. For the weapons just redo some level and go for them, it can come very fast, and if you like pulling your hair and stuff like that, you can do the no dying in a level ones.

But thats all, these achievements unlock file bonus, wich are fun because they tell you more about characters and ennemy, but thats all. No multiplayer throw away any replay value.

So definately a good game to rent for a week or less depending how fast you do your solo games(on my side i like to play 1-2 hour per day maximum so i don't get tired of the game, im more of a multiplayer guy)

It's a rent for sure... This game only took me about 15hours and I have a rubber-band over my controller getting my last achievements thanks to a glitch the guide pointed out.

A rental for me, I think this game pretty much sucks. There is nothing too special about it at all.

The only reason to buy this game is if you're a collector. If not, rent it (can easily be finished in a day).

i bought it, got 1000/1000, and still play it. its just an overall fun game with a great story and a variety of characters.

You must really like the game. I am undecided on the rental or purchase factor still. I liked the demo

I suggest rent it first. I own the game and I was a bit disappointed in it...

I got it used at GS and have 7 days to return it and use that money for DMC4 which I'll keep in my collection. I Bought it yesterday and I'm 50% through it but after seeing all the negative reviews must say I love it. So I say rent only cause its pretty quickly beaten if you have plenty of money it is worthwhile game spruce up your collection.

It seems like the consensus is to rent this game. That's what I'll do just to be on the safe side.

Truthfully i would buy this game as i did but it is a game that most people who like shooters with a twist in it would really like but it is also easy for achievements which would make me also say rent if u like your achievement points.
But overall i did enjoy this game for what it was worth and would advise everyone to buy it if they had the chance. :D

The people who say rent or just played the demo have no idea about the game. Buy it. It's awesome and I loved every minute of it and I played it up until I got 1k on it, too bad theres virtually no replay value once you complete it on hard.

Well it depends on how long you can rent. If you count the days I spent to 1000 G it it would be 3. Very easy game and it unfortunately has no replay value unless you want another easy 1000 G

It can be beaten in a day and it can be extremely frustrating on Hard because of your terrible teammates. It's fun but frustrating and also short. I still haven't beat it but after about 3 hours I'm over half way done.
