Sorry if this is a dumb question, but does it make any difference whether you play as Prince or one of the cousins, other than their appearances?
I know if you don't do so well on a level, the King is like "I should ask so-and-so cousin to do it instead". Is there an advantage to replaying that level as that particular cousin? I hadn't noticed any, but I haven't tried it that much.

Items might change to match the "Look" of the Cousin, it's mainly just for giggles really, like Princess' Sword is just an Umbrella.

Yeah, the presents look different, like the mask for Sherman looks like a snowman's face, but Prince's mask looks like the King.
But the only point where it makes a difference is collecting the Prince in Egg School. If you play as Marcy on that level, you add the Prince to your collection. Otherwise, there's no difference.

Is there a menu where you can locate and play as a certain character besides running around Princedom and trying to find the cousin you want to play as?
*Nevermind - found the little record player thing that makes all cousins flock to you.
