i would like to thank number uno for his great guide. But im following it, the first collectable is called Legendary Sword. I got to the part, it says you have to drop down some ledges to get to it. I could see the sword but there was no way to get to it. I ended up dropping down to the bottom and there was no way to get to the sword. So I press revert to last save and it takes me all the way back to the start of the mission. i have to go back through 20 minutes of fighting to get back to where i was. still cant find a way to get to the sword. is the rest of the game like this? frustrating i mean :p

to get the sword you have to use the momentum swing to even be able to reach the handhold thats above the ledge the sword is on .. and to do that you must release from the handhold at the very end of his lil shimmy he does on the handhold and he will go alot further .. its all about timing. they teach ya in game about the using momentum on the handholds in the obstacle course with Brecca at the beginning of the game.

And yeah the game has it shining moments that make ya wanna snap .. oh yeah !

I read your guide, and now this post, and I really have no clue what a momentum swing is.

Do I need to hang from a ledge before attempting it? Is there a certain thing I do with the controller, or is it contextual? Did they describe what is was at that beginning of the game, when they threw all sorts of controls at you?

I really don't want to attempt act 4 again until i know what exactly to do to get this sword...

Help?

You can buy the paper strat guide at gamestop for $5.00. It has pics of what you should do. Not that bad of a price.

I actually went looking for a downloadable guide at prima. Found a free sample with this useful nugget in the "general controls" section:

"When crawling along a wall or cliff, you sometimes must cross a very long distance. To do this, first press and hold the control stick in the direction you want to go. This starts Beowulf swinging. After he’s swung back and forth a couple of times, press and hold Grab/Struggle just as he’s starting to move in the direction you want to go. Holding down the button is essential—it’s what gives you the extra distance on your first lunge. After that initial lunge, you can go back to tapping Grab/Struggle as usual."

I'm pretty sure that's what I needed to know.

Thanks!

Yep it is - holding the button is the main thing
