I want to know if the combo kills need every hit successful to be a combo kill or not, because when I sneak attack a guard, I land all three hits, but face to face, the guards normally guard against the first two hits, but the third one hits. I am pretty sure I have killed at least 50 guards this way, but I want to know if you actually have to hit all the hits.

i find normally i get the combo kills in civilian rescues hit each guard normally twice then watch your next attack it should be blocked the time the X right and it should work. and a combo kill is when you tap X once your attack is blocked its like one swift move not 3 different ones, and you'll know when you hit a combo attack because it will cut to the quick animation like it does for counter kills.

you can also get this achievement easily doing several times the combo kill training. That's how i did it.

Yes this is the easiest way to get it. If you do go for it against gaurds make sure you do it the same way they teach you in training.
