Not sure I get this game...

I picked this up tonight because I needed a break from Assassin's Creed...but I'm having trouble doing much. I can't seem to do the requests in the time limit. By the time I start going, the big ball thing moves so slow I can't get it big enough. And, what does it mean when I roll over something and it says "look out"-does that mean those things hurt me? The manual is absolutely no help on how to play.

"Look out!" is a strangely placed display indicator, because it does appear to have something to do with the item you just rolled up. All it actually means is that you are in close proximity to a moving object that's large enough to push you around, and possibly knock a few pieces off of you, but really just being stopped is as harmful as being damaged. Mice, dogs, people, cars and whales are common things that can cause that warning while they're too big to roll up, but a high-velocity Xbox controller with an elf riding on it will do just as well.

Strategically speaking, here are my general thoughts: Your goal should never be thoroughness. To someone who's unfamiliar with the game, solid strategy should look like a mindless rampage. Always moving, looking for clusters of objects that are just barely small enough to be rolled up, and that means learning an instinct for what that relative size looks like. The smaller an object is, the less interested in it you should be, unless there are many of them used to construct something like a brick path, or a pyramid of barrels. The whole strategy is just common sense stuff that comes from rolling the game around (lawl) in your mind. Oh, and get comfortable with the quick turn move, but don't fret about the charge 'n' roll. Charge 'n' roll is really only for the leetest of score whores. ...like me.

Maybe you suck? It takes a lot of time and patience to get use to the game if your new to it. I remember playing the very first one and struggled a lot till I got use to it. You just got to keep playing and you'll do just fine.

Dude, it can be a pretty difficult game to get accustomed to. It's got bizarre controls and it's a very strange concept. Don't say 'not to be mean' if you're gonna be.
