how do i get flags?

Hey i just bought this game and i just got past the first memory block, and i decided to go look for at least one flag to see what they look like etc.. I THINK i'm in the right place for one of the 20 flags in maysef but apparently its not there. Do i get the flags later or something?

In Masyaf about 1/3 of every roof you jump on will have a flag, they sparkle and rotate; in most places they will stick out, but are still very easy to miss.

As for the major cities they will be all over the rooftops and in hidden places on the ground. There's a thread on locations here (http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=45350).

ok new question, i figured out how to get the flags, i now have 18 out of 20 but i cannot get to flag 4 and 5 according to kotor sentinel's map, any help would be greatly appreciated

Check the thread on Templar/Flag discussion, but if you're referring to the two that are in the courtyard behind the library, that doesn't open up until after you're first assassination. Welcome to the site and good luck!
