I'm doing the second informer mission in the poor district of Jerusalem. It's the one where you have to stealth assassinate 3 guys. The problem is, they're guards, and at all times they are surrounded by about 20 guards and 50 civilians. I can't kill more than 1 without being noticed. I've tried throwing knives from above, luring around a corner, drawing people away to another part, but no matter what I do I cannot get more than 1 down without being "exposed". Any tips?

Use throwing knives is still the best way. Take out the archers on the roofs first before you talk to the informer. Get max throwing knives you can, and don't stand on the edge all the way. As soon as you throw start running backwards and you should not be seen. If you take the assassination route, just make sure no guards are around or at least alert and suspicious.
The 5 target informer mission in Acre was the hardest for me, its only 3 or 4 mins i think and the targets were far away, and then I'd get kept getting spotted somehow from guards on the ground, and it was because I was basically hanging off the edge of the building, when i backed up then threw I was golden.

What the hell...I just had done it...got all 3 without being seen. As I'm going back to the informer, one of those f'ing retards pushes me into a guard, and boom, informer mission failed. Seriously, does the entire city have to be filled with water heads?????

I have to agree about that 5 target mission in Acre, that was honestly the only assassination in the game, be it main storyline or side-stuff, that stopped me dead in my tracks. I had to walk away from the game and take a break after repeated failures with throwing knives, since they seemed to keep being right under the roof edges, and then I'd be seen. Couldn't understand it, since I took out the other informer missions from the rooftops. Once I got all 5, then just couldn't run back to the informer fast enough.
I came back, switched to the hidden blade, and took them all out on the first try. :woop: But yes, I'm sure I could do it with throwing knives now, and I do recommend them for most of the missions. Just take those archers out first, even if you don't think you'll be within their eyesight.

I personally would not recommend throwing knives. I completed every informer assassination mission simply by walking up to each target, stabbing them in the back, and blending as I walk away for a few seconds before moving on to my next one. I completed the five target assassination on my first try on both of my playthroughs.

Same here. I didn't use a single throwing knife. I just walked up and did a low-profile assassination with my hidden blade and then walked away. As long as you don't do it directly in front of another guard, you'll be fine. The civilians don't matter with the low-profile assassination. Once you're several feet away, you can start jogging and as long as you don't run into a guard or start knocking people over, you can get to the next target easily. The only time I failed one of these missions was when a crazy dude knocked me into a guard and most of the time I finished in about half the time - even with the five targets in four minutes.

Im the only crazy one that jump everywhere like an idiot while assassinating yet I was never caught except once. I run assassinate then keep running works great lol. But the throwing knives works wonders too in this situation.

OH MY GOD I CANNOT TAKE IT ANYMORE...these completely retarded controls. Doing stealth assassination, starting to blink red...OK, Altair, jump into that bail of hay...JUMP INTO THAT BAIL OF HAY!!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! WHY IS MY CHARACTER NOW RUNNING AROUND IN CIRCLES WITH HIS SWORD SWINGING?????
I swear, they programmed anti-technopimp code into this game...Altair seems to just randomly do whatever he wants. Sometimes I wonder if I'm even controlling him, or I'm just watching a demo.

Haha, at first I didn't realize there IS a such thing as low profile assassinations... Once I figured that out it was easy. Never could get away with using throwing knives.

It's just stupid at this point...now even if I target someone to throw a knife at, it'll go in the opposite direction and kill some civilian, thereby "exposing" me. I think it's time to play something else where the controls actually work.
