Don't read this if you haven't completed the game (though you aren't missing much):
I just wanted to know what everyone thought about the ending? There is quite a lot of backstory and history in this game but the second you beat the Firstborn, the team jumps into the water and...................nothing. What a load of rubbish.
Not to mention the fact two characters just get imploded for no reason right at the end. I realise the vogue for films, books and games at the moment is to leave things ambiguous but this is surely taking the mickey.
I was extremely disappointed and that's an understatement.

OMG. I just felt the same way. WTF... and thats it? Maybe its the "Clive Barkers" way?! Never saw any movie from him, maybe he does these kind of cliffhanger endings in his movies, too.
I'm quite disappointed. I really liked the story and the atmosphere of the game and suddenly its all over... :(

I was really surprised by the trailer which was really a good looking movie. I hoped to see more of these as in-game movies but no nothing at all. Not even a descent ending. Hope they will set things right when there comes a jericho 2. Abigail Black is absolutely the most sexy women in game history:eek:.

Yeah. just beat it today and have to say one of the worst endings i have ever seen in a game. Codemasters blew it with this one. Too short, too many plot holes, and an ending that really makes you feel that you wasted time. On top of that, you have to buy most of the cheat codes. RIPOFF!

What a waste for an ending. The game was really good till then. Let's say the End ruined the lasting appeal...

Ha ha, to think I sat through the credits too, thinking 'there'll be something else'............
Still I suppose they will churn out a sequel and we may get to learn more.

Jones and Cole can't really be dead since even if you die in The Box your just brought back. As for the ending though it did really, really suck. Hopefully they make a sequel as I really loved this game. Also they could make a perquel dealing with the Sumerians since you know about them the least out of all the groups.

I just finished...the credits are rolling as I write this...and I have to agree that that was one of the least satisfying endings in a game that I've experienced. That just fits with the game though...a lot of potential that just devolves into disappointment. Sadly, as far as I know (and I could be wrong) Jericho didn't sell very well so I doubt we'll get any kind of closure on the story.

I agree the ending was terrible. I liked the plot of the game. Or at least the backstory of a bunch of B/A ghostbusters with special powers. They could have done it a little better but after mediocre (at best) reviews i was surprised by how much I enjoyed the game all together.

i did the exact same thing and was pissed off. i hope there is a jericho 2 as i did have quite an enjoyable time playing through even if it was short.

The ending was retarded. I was disapointed with the fact you don't know what happens and they kill two randomly people for no reason. Game blows

I haven't finished the game yet but I am on the part where all of them got separated and they'll need to fight their way through alone.
I don't mind the spoilers since the story was spoiled already when I read the Wikipedia article for the game. Haha!
But yeah, I think the ending sucks... well, just for the sake of finishing the game...

Who cares.
This game is absolutely amazing in every way.
Your team mates get imploded for no reason true but those two were as useless as hell anyway.
I have to say that without a doubt in my mind, this has been the best 360 game I have played.
Hope for a sequal!!

IMO, everybody in the team has their own uses that's why they are there in the first place. Cole's time manipulating ability has helped me in several ways. Jones' skill however, was only useful on fixed points on the game, where you need to use it to progress further.
Delgado's my favorite.

I loved the game. Big Clive Barker fan. But the ending was pretty anticlimatic. You do all the damage to the Firstborn, then Leech has a change of heart and flies away carrying it, killing it? They could've at least shown Leech tearing the Firstborn apart...

Well, I thought it was VERY anti-climatic. I mean you are killing the Firstborn one second and the next second the next thing you see is you swimming out of the ocean for three seconds then credits?
So you were underwater the whole time? Huh? Ehh.. I don't get it. I loved the game other than the ending, though.

Anyone else shoot at leech for 15 minutes straight hoping to try and get a different ending? I liked the gameplay and most of the game. Setup was awesome but enemies too repetitive. Not sure if I buy the sequel, maybe rent. Dont think I would even get any DLC.

Ya know, my test for a "great game" is if I play it again after I get 1000 points. This wasn't it. I sold it the day I finished. I liked some of the gameplay... the Ghost Bullet was absolutely genious, and it was good for one playthrough. Would have been AWESOME if they included at least 2 player co-op. I know there were some parts of the game where you only had one character, but they could have easily included a split to the story there, and had you and your friend play seperate parts at the same time.
AS FAR AS TOPIC the ending was disappointing yes, but I think that was the idea. It looks like they just didn't know what to do, so they just cut it off, but I'm sure they planned on leaving any kind of real ending out for the hopes of being able to make a sequil. I would play it if they did, but wouldn't buy it, unless they added a working MP or co-op modes, or a very long SP.

Looks like they ran out of money, or maybe the DVD was full, or maybe someone just lost the final pages of clive barker's scenario. Even if they planned on making a sequel, this has to be the worst cliffhanger ever.

Same here... the ending just plain sucks. I was really expecting something more after the last battle.

I saw this thread a couple days ago (just finished game today), and thought I should stay away cause it would give away the "awesome" ending... well to say the least, it wouldn't have made a difference.
Horrible ending, would love to see a sequel though.

I feel sorry for anyone who paid retail price for this game, and I can't seem to think of any reason why people love it either. To each his own I guess...
Just finished it, and the ending was very dissapointing indeed and a complete anti-climax. :|

I loved this game so much and loved the characters in it so I was really dissapointed at the ending, if you can even call it an ending.

*sigh*
I really enjoyed Clive Barker books and movies. Very creepy and twisted. This game was interesting. Had a nice story with only a few holes. Then this ending. (Or lack of).
Where are they? Are the on earth? Some other dimension or time? Was not closing the gate really the best choice?
If you didn't cheat, a fairly challenging game. No COD, but enough to keep you going. Nothing really scary, just creepy. Black was my favorite. Also like Church.
I am not sure if I want a sequal. After finishing Assasin's Creed I was like "where is the sequal" I need to know what will happen. This game, however, I almost can care less.
And no achievement for killing the firstborn? Wth? After gaining the last achievement I wondered if I should go on. I did, just for an interesting boss fight (not hard because the game is always dropping hints) and no ending.
At least I am not the only who feels cheated. Glad I rented this one.

The game has a nice build up through the levels but ends poorly. You spend the game ripping through the evil beasties, only to end up having a nice paddle in the sea. Surreal a best, but the thing that bugged me the most was you don't get a endgame achievement, you get it for just getting onto the final fight. maybe the game designers are telling use to but the controller down and just walk away.

I rented this game and have just completed it:woop:I would be really happy except im like this:uzi:Why? Because I watched the most stupidest ending ever. I never really paid atention to the story that much cos I get confused with loads of mystical enemies and their backgrounds and stuff. But that bat thing takes that child and flies away. Then the cave seems to start to pile in so they jump in the water come out the otherside and like 3 seconds later stupid credits?:confused:I skipped the credits hoping theyl be something afterwards, but nothing except the menu. NO ACHIEVEMENT! I did do it on hard. But I died? I looked at the achievements and I dont think I saw any achievement about the last level on hard without being incapacitated?? I dunno but I gotta redo some levels for some more achievements :Bounce:

I feel sorry for anyone who paid retail price for this game, and I can't seem to think of any reason why people love it either. To each his own I guess...
I pre-ordered this, snagged the LIMITED EDITION! I loved it and still have it. Granted I haven't traded it off yet and almost did once but changed my mind. From my understanding before obtaining the game, Jericho is part of a trilogy. So, technically speaking this is part 1. Part 2 is supposed to have something to do with a boat, which would explain the water at the end. I was pissy too until I heard about that, and then it made sense.
But, you need to also take into consideration that Clive Barker is not a man who writes a good ending haha. I picked up his book Mr. B Gone and, honestly, the ending left a lot to be desired. Good concept and good story though.
Problem now is, considering how poorly Jericho sold because of how poorly it was developed, and the fact that people could not grasp the thought of "Maybe there aren't thousands of different amalgamations located here, but rather only a few", the game sold poorly. The demo didn't help any either, it almost turned me away too, but I'm glad I didn't. But, if you want to think about it, Jericho was a shooter based a lot in the old school realm of gaming, which made it more exciting to play. It also added some modern elements that, granted, could have been better, but definitely spiced up the game play.
Why is all that a problem? Because now Codemasters may not pick up Jericho 2, which will leave the saga completely unfinished. Barker has the ability to write some great stuff, and I've been a fan for years. I personally would hate to see this game go unfinished. Hopefully, if he can't get part 2 greenlit, he'll look to making it into a book or comic or something.
