Im assuming youve got windows media centre on your laptop?
Yeah I downloaded the software. I think i'm gonna try and create some static IP's for all my devices on my network and just put them in a DMZ zone! Makes sense ;)

Good luck with that DaWebb.
Gave up in the end and just put my 360 in a DMZ. Still not sure how to connect the 2 though
Anyone? ...

Can't get mine to work either. I have a media centre desktop hard wired to a router, then my laptop and 360 wireless. Tried everything (and I mean everything), yet none of them can see each other.
I'm starting to think my router doesn't support the wirless network I require.

My 360 is wired to my router(im scared of doing the wireless LIVE stuff still) and my laptop is wireless but still on the same thing...works out good for me.
Finally found the thread. LOL
Just thought it'd be helpful to point out that I got this working finally and now know enough (I think) to help people out with it ;)
I found out that my ZoneAlarm firewall was not compatible with Windows Media Connect and thus had to uninstall it and use the windows firewall.
Then in the Windows Media Connect program, under the settings tab, I clicked the reset under the Windows Firewall section and it opens up the necessary ports.
Then, like magic ;) The connection is complete and I can stream music and videos off my laptop on my 360! Yay!!
