White bars around some of them, and use a different render from time to time

thnks ya I plan on getting cs3 soon but for now im stuck w/ 5.5 and you cant find many brushes!:p

That one is the best - not a bad start. Just keep looking at tutorials and experimenting. Also, look at other galleries and find someones style you like - message them and ask them for some tips and if you're lucky, they'll message back :)

What were you thinking?
Well the 2 i showed you above you should use them as your guide because they are nice and you can improve if you try the similar thing like you did for those 2 e.g. use different brushes and or use different images.
Don't retry the others =) and try to use your imagination when designing the background.
