I couldn't find any mention of this in any other posts so thought I would let anyone with an HDTV connection know a solution if the PAL 60hz is causing them a problem like it did me.

When I first booted the game up it kept telling me the game did not support PAL 50hz and I should change it to PAL 60hz and restart the game, a bit of a surprise as I have played several 60hz only games without this ever coming up, an even bigger problem is I only have a Monster 360 Component cable which has no switch from TV - HDTV, therefore I couldn't access the PAL 50hz setting under the TV options on the 360's dashboard.

I had to borrow a mates cable, set the cable to TV, change the settings to PAL 60hz, restart the machine, change the cable back to HDTV and then plug my Monster Cable back in, this then allowed me to play Hitman Blood Money.

Phew!

Although I love this game I think it's a situation that needs fixing via an update. If I didn't have a mate with a 360 I would have had to of bought another £12+ cable just to make one little change in order to play the game, if other manufacturers can make 60hz games without this problem why does Hitman have it? Even the demo does by all accounts.

Actually nearly every Xbox 360 game forces you to use 60 Hz. The only reason for 50 Hz are emulated games like Halo or Halo 2, which require 50 Hz for the PAL versions.

Like I said I have a few games that require a 60Hz TV, Oblivion for example, however I have never had a warning message come up stopping me from playing the game, and I have never had to alter any settings on the dashboard in order to get it to work, there were no settings I could change using the component cable set to HDTV that would allow Hitman to run, I am sure there are people out there who have a 60Hz HDTV with the component cable plugged in who cannot play this game which just seems daft to me.

I hate to resurrect an old thread, but thanks for this information. It happens on a few games for us folks whose standard electrical supply is 50Hz (compared to the US 60Hz). Most games change the TV between 50Hz and 60Hz automatically, but this and The Outfit doesnt.
