Recovering gamertag

Due to a couple of reasons soon i will get a new 360 and will recover my gamertag. Is it true that if you reciver your tag your achievement lists will disappear and no one will be able to view games is this true and what other side affects are there.

No this is definately not true because my name has been transferred in the past and my saves and stuff are still here;)

that is what happenend to my friend. He said when he transfered his tag onto his new 360, it showed his achievement points, but it said he never played the games.

Because maybe he had his games "blocked" where nobody can see them but they're there

PS. I think that italian guy in first on the leaderbaords is BS. He has over 15 games more than everyone else at the top

Yes, Rance has been mentioned numerous times. If he finished all them games he would be well ahead of anyone in the world because of the advantage.

I have a question too:

When you go to recover a gamertag, Live says that it will delete all saved content on any console with that profile. But I did it (getting an achievement for a friend) and he didn't lose any saves. What's this about?

I delt my Xbox 360 Passport net thing....and so i cant log on to xbox.com
I called up microsoft and the person told me i have to recover but when i do this it will delt my stuff.

So yeah i would like to know 100% becuase iv just been ignoring the whole .com stuff since this happen like 2 months ago lol

It won't delete your stuff like saved games and whatnot. I know this because I have recovered my names on other 360s and could sign in Live on all of them, nothing lost whatsoever;)

shit, i was talking about achievement data saves can be at risk.Yeah i know it didnt happen to you But other people are saying yes and no so im confused and now saves could be deleted.:eek:

the warning says saves will be deleted but me and helacool tried it and it didnt, your achievements and friends list will remain intact no matter what, but the warning states saves will be deleted. but when me and helacool tested it, it did not.

On my 1st Xbox 360, my profile some how became corrupted. I had to recover my whole profile. After deleting the original profile. It would not let me recover it with the corrupted one on there. It took about 35 min. to download my profile, but once it was done I had lost nothing. Everything was there.
However when I replaced my 360 (because of locking up problems), I saved everything I could to a a memory card. Because I had a friend that sent his 360 to MS, when they sent him a new one back he lost ALL of his saved games.... EVERYTHING was gone. Because he did not get his original hard drive back. But he still had his Achievements. I have another friend that sent his 360 to MS but did not send his hard drive, they sent him a brand new 360 with another hard drive. MS didnt even care, that he didnt send in the hard drive.
So there are 2 options you can do. Save everything that you can to a memory card including your profile, or not send them the hard drive. But if the problem is in the hard drive you are screwed. I think the memory card is the best bet. All your themes, gamer pics, arcade games and anything else from the market place can be downloaded again for free. I hope this helps.

I want to know if you can have two live gamertags, playing the same game on the same xbox 360.

what i mean is i have my own 360 with my gamertag and i often go round to a friends and play on his 360 on perfect dark zero. i want to use my gamertag while he is using his so i can still rack up kills etc. while playing multiplayer so i can get my achievements aswell.

Is this possible?

It only works on certain games. As far as I know, it doesn't work for PDZ, but does work for GRAW.

100% sure it will not delete any of your friends or acheivements becuse when you get friends saves them to your gamer tag not to your xbox cos if you had 2 accounts you might not want all of your friends on your new one and acheivements go strait to your gamer tag other wise how would they show up when you look up someones gamer tag acheivements they dont save to your pc lol just to xbox's system
