Stuck on Mission 9

I must really suck at this game, even on easy I can't beat this level. If I go straight for the flying fortress the planes shoot me before I can kill it and if I go for the planes the fortress shoots me with cruise missiles. What am I supposed to do for this mission to be completed, or what should I kill first.

well, i need help on expet, i've managed to take down the 2 on the side that fly in a strait pattern. then i either get shot down by aa or a figter. could i get any tips to help keep the fighters off my back?

I beat this level on expert yesterday. FINALLY. I took my F22A Raptor and XMA6 missles. Leave Shamrock on cover and go after the side ships. One at a time preferably. After one goes down your allied attack fills. Use it up on the other ships and keep unloading XMA6 missles till you're out. I more or less ignored the aigigon or whatever it's called until the other planes were all down. They all go down the same. Shoot all the original targets and the engines appear. Shoot all the engines and the cockpit appears with the name of the ship. Shoot that and good bye ship. I went after the gyges first after I shot down the six fuel planes that aren't targets. I don't know if you need to get those but what the heck? Hope this helps. This level sucks!

I actually love this level it's my favourate. Also you better get used to it if you want to complete CO-OP Mission 2. Same as Catticus said, I always take out the smaller side planes first and leave the main ship for last. I completely ignore Strigon team and always call for allied support to cover me. They instantly go after Strigon team and most of them die pretty quickly. Another tactic that might help you is to try to destroy the Strigon members as they fly from the main ship. They are extremely slow on take off and can't dodge you're missiles if you're firing at them head on.

I never ever waste my missiles on the smaller ships and this is a great way to get the machine-gun medals. Use you're missiles to only attack the AA turrets on the large side planes. Then just slow down and drift from side to side machine gunning the engines. The AA Guns are pretty hard to hit with the missiles. So when I lock on to them I tilt my craft upwards so the missile flies over the ship and hits the turret rather than hitting the main hull of the ship.

Nothing else to say really except try not to stall when slowly shooting at the ships, You could lose control and crash straight into it. Also as you're probably aware, Try not to fly into planes you have shot down as they can cause you're plane to explode.

How do you beat this mission using only bullets? I'm doing it on easy right now and shooting the hell out of the cockpit at the end, but it never says "hit", even when I'm clearly hitting it. Any help would be appreciated.

I did it on my 2nd attempt, didnt find it too hard to be honest, used the first plane u get in the game too lol

Beat this on Hard without dying.
Used the F22A Raptor with XAM6 missiles.
Went after the large ships using the SP missiles, then used the allied cover to blast the Strigon jets into oblivion.

Just take down the side planes first and then its easy from there.

But that's not what I asked. See I thought you meant you did it with machine gun ONLY. This level is EXTREMELY easy, as is any level with missiles. There should be no problems while using missiles. It is the MG only that is giving me a hard time.

Use Sukhoi with XMA4 and lots of allied attack/cover.

How do you activate allied support, it has been awhile since I played this game. I gave up on this mission.

When the bar on the screen fils up, you can press (and HOLD!) Up for Allied Attach and Down for Allied Cover

Use the S33 with RCL.. you'll be suprised how easy it is..

ok when i did it i just used my allied attack and to take out planes while i took down the bigger ships then i just went after each ship one by one. did it on my 2nd try...1st try i flew into the big ship at the end cuz i had trouble hitting the cockpit and ended up crashing in there haha

It saves a checkpoint just before the part wherer you have to destroy the cockpit though, you didn't start it over again did ya?

use the RCL with SU33. RCL great for a nice spread damage on the ships and engines

The allied attack and cover does that have to be blue before you can use it?

Yeah I hated this mission too...I eventually gave up and gave it back to my buddy and started playing sumthin else that wasn't so frustrating. If I would've kept playing it then i prolly wouldve broken my controller.. or prolly the game.

This works the best. I used the F-22A for this mission and i used the A-10 for the Gun only achievement.
