oh shit!
that kinda scares me off :)
i played hitman 2 and 3, and most times the AI ruined my effort in killing silently...
hope this time it's better balanced, otherwise this achievement could be a pain in the ass...!

I've played the PC version alot and its not that hard. It's so awesome. The thing thats so cool with hitman is the freedom. You can kill the persons in so many ways :p Either go ballistic and run with an m4 :uzi: or do it the way I enjoy doing it by either sabotaging and making "accidents" or just "drop" a syringe with poison on their neck ;) There's no end to the possibilities ;)

But I wonder if you get the Rookie, Normal and Expert achievements if you complete it on professional first

i thought you have to get through professional mode by getting a "silent assassin" rank all the time to get this achievement...

Yeah, it's class, i've tried to make all my kills look like an accident so far. It's great fun to play. Some times you can't go in all guns blazing cause there is loads of them around!

Just done one and if I was to kick off, it would have been about 30 against me! Oh dear! LOL

I've actually just picked up a nail gun and creeped up behind someone and nailed them in the side of the head! Hilarious!

Just played a level that has a mardi gras like festival and the amount of characters on screen at once was phenomenal! Yay!

I always start on the middle difficulty to start with to get to know the controls, the maps, etc. Once you determine a route that involves little combat, then I can't see it being that hard, no matter what difficulty. Its all about being undetected. I mean, for like 4 levels I never fired a bullet, just set a few "accidents", he he and no one even knows your there ;)

how's cheating less satsfying?...b4 the 360 i ALWAYS used cheats in games that had them it made the expirience more fun for me....lol i used the cheats in Quake 4 n found out i cant get the achievements now...so now im only gonna use them if its a game i hate/suck at lol and if its confirmed that u can get the cheats with them on (examples of games: tennis games BLAZING ANGELS hockey games soccer games etc.)

I think Hitman Contracts was the bad one of the bunch and so accordingly the rest of the series can't be judged on that one.

I think the AI on this one is not as harsh and I think it's quite fair most of the time.

It was very freaky I thought I'd got an achievement for finishing another level, then I did it again to get silent assasin, checked the result and realised what it was.

This is from the Hitman forums for the silent assassin criteria (Elil posts)

Regarding Silent Assassin requirements...

I'm not 100% sure of the exact requirements but this is what I'm pretty sure of:

- No firing of any gun.
- No witnesses.
- No bodies found. (except from accidents).
- No covers blown.
- No innocents slain.
- Any guard deaths must be accidental.
- All mission objectives accomplished. (including optional ones)

In addition, when playing on Pro difficulty:

- Must retrieve suit.
- Must not leave any custom weapons behind.

Necessary for the silent assassin achievements.

Just done my first one of pro, they're pretty tough!

I spoke to some Swiss fella about the final missing secret achievement and he says that you must complete the level with just a sniper rifle. I've done that and no achievement, so i'm not sure what he means.

I killed the 3 main targets with it and a few randoms on the way as well! :confused:

Ha ha. I tried the hideout, I also thought it might be the bottles in the range.

Just spoke to someone esle who has it and apparently it's a sniper stealth mission needed.

To do a mission and cause plenty of violence with the sniper but not be seen.

So like a silent assassin with as much blood shed as humanly possible :p

You would get the same money, BUT, for the 5 million, it needs to be on one difficulty.

You can't do the notorious achievement on rookie cause there is no notoriety system on that difficulty.

It's not too bad to be honest, I found that if you wait for them, they bottle neck in a door way and you can just hold down the trigger and plough through 20+ on them (Opera level ;)) and on the Suburban level, let them filter round the bushes I found the best way, cause there are loads of them!

This was a toughie, after trial and error I finally got it. Right, I started up "New Life" on rookie and sat in the tree house killing all the agents with the sniper rifle, I killed every agent, even the reinforcements (I even poisoned the FBI in the van). Then I killed the target and sedated his wife, stole the necklace and then ran home.

I got the rating of The Russian Hare

Note: Killed every enemy, no civilian casualties, don't forget to change into the FBI suit before you enter the house.

Nice one dude, Where did you get the poison for the FBI agents in the van?

Just use the poison needle you start with and inject the donuts that are in the catering van on Vince's drive.

I advise you to take the donuts round the corner and do it where no one can see ;) Then walk up to the van and it should give you an option to leave donuts, he does and knocks the van door, then walk away ;)

I love this game, it's great.

Plenty of thought must go in to each mission and it's a good feeling when you pull of the silent hit. Fantastic. It maybe not be next gen graphics, but it looks great, the sound is fantastic. Plenty of variation in the levels and so so many different ways that you can pull of the hit, guns blazin or in and out like the wind.

It's not an easy 1000 points and can be quite time consuming seeing as you have to play through the game at least 4 times. But definitely satisfying, problem is i've spent that much time on it over the last few days, i'll have it nailed in a week.

Although there is replayability as there are so many different paths to take, for example, one mission, kill the wife to get the necklace she's wearing or seduce her dressed as the pool boy ;)

all you do is keep moving the right stick up and down untill he stands up shot the 1st man run around the back and grap the other man as cove and shoot away

or get lucky like i did and run out side and shot the guy in wheel chiar then grap the man(good lvl to get spec achment 47 head shots

I did all that and I didn't get the achievement, I've tried this 8 times now, but the last try should of definatly done it, but it didn't!

What did I do wrong, any tips? I didn't kill the wife, only sedated, killed the 13 FBI agents (2 with poisoned donuts and the other 11 with fully customized sniper from the tree house) and the target (with poison syringe while he was watching TV)! That's it, what happened? Oh, also, another bit of info to make it easier to help is that the 2 limos with extra guys in never came any of the times I tried this!

To answer Mattumuz, the ONLY thing I did differently was sniped the target through the front window from the garage opposite, hope that helps ;)

For the Silent Assassin achievement on Professional you must also leave the level in your suit!!!

You upgrade your guns when you select what weapons to take on the mission, just press Y. You can only upgrade so far depending how far you are in the game. I think it's Heaven and Hell party that unlocks Tier 4 of Kruger's shop.

Personally, Im playing straight through on pro difficulty, trying to get all silent assassins straight away. I take no weapons into any missions, and never spend any cash, so once I hit the 5 million mark and unlock the achievement, I'll then spend all the cash on upgrades unlocking the gun achievements :)

How to unlock the Krueger Schmidt Shop achievements?I played this game nearly trough and not get it?

I've just started a new thread for this as it will constantly become a problem. They can be tough as hell on Professional. One mistake and thats it!

I've done 2 now and just on my third (Curtains Down), one sedation and two accidents should do the trick.

I've noticed the easiest ones are the ones with an easy exit.

I can see the Wedding one being quite easy as well. I've done it on other levels and will do it again on Professional. Also the Heaven and Hell (those are my 5 ) :D

New Life - Difficulty Rookie

Sorry. I took a sniper. First I got the donuts (van on drive), took round corner, poisoned with needle, took to surveillance van, put down donuts (press A for that action). They died, took their suit and tape. Took the rifle case round to the tree house (far side by the Rubbish truck) climbed it, killed the agents in the yard, the others come out, killed them, then more come, kill the lot (you may have to be patient), then when they are all dead. Go in the house creep up on the wife when she's alone and sedate. Steal neckless and then escape. I took my suit from the van.

EDIT: also just done Murder of the Crows, Silent Assassin! YAY!!! 1 left now. Easy! ;)

So in order to get the special rating one, u have to kill all the bad guys on the map using the sniper then Sedate the woman and take her necklace, then kill the guy that your supposed to, am i rite?? cos when i tried it i dint get it but i think that was because i accidently killed the woman and shot one of the guards wid a desert eagle.

Has anyone else got this acheivement on a different level other than New Life???

I also did all that and still can't get this acievement. no one even knew i was there, killed them all with the sniper rifle, even the back up. got the film and left. there must be something else that you have to do!! really anoying. If anyone who has this achievement has the time, please!!!! make a video of this.

I was under the impression you couldn't be seen, I wasn't, not even by the woman, anyone!

Can't use a desert eagle, not silent enough, would attract attention!

Just use the garage and the tree house with the sniper rifle and kill all the guards, no one will see you then. Use the map to make sure they are all dead.

Then enter the house in the FBI suit, wait for the woman to be alone, then sedate, and get necklace.

You can try sniping her. But that was the way I did it.

Ive done this now 17 times and nothing, as even when i shoot one of the guards my Attention bar goes yellow, and how do you kill the Guy as i snipe him through the window from the garage.

but it never gives it.

oh and the 47 kills do you have to count yourself or is there a way to see how many you've killed?

Firstly, the 47 achievment, I counted them myselves. It was quite amusing, i laid the bodies down in rows of 5 in the lobby of the Curtains Down mission! LOL

Secondly, play the level on rookie and make sure you have your sniper fully upgraded to the max (more silent and zoom). From the garage, I opened the door and hid every so often. Kill the donut eating FBI's in the van first.

I completed it on Rookie first as i know it wont be good to snipe otherwise.

right i posion the donuts... put them there. walk away go to the tree house and snipe the bodyguard, then the clown or pool guy gets the other ones.. so i kill them apart from one at the front door. so i go to the Garage and kill him, and then kill the MARK (the hit) then i go and get a FBI suit out if the van go in sedate the wife leave. get my suit... and nothing.

it sounds like you have to kill everyone on the map, i.e. guards etc
i wouldnt know as i havent managed to get this achievement yet either (need to upgrade my sniper a bit more first) but thats the impression im getting by reading what DaWebb has put.

I got this after a few attempts.

Things that might affect it - Did you get the tape from the van? Leave in your suit? Only kill guards (including two limo's of back-up). Don't get seen by the neighbours. Kill EVERY guard (use the map to check every level). I never entered the house till all the guards were dead, and thats when I left the treehouse for the FBI suit from the dead FBI agents.

If you haven't got it tomorrow, i'll go back replay and post a screenshot of the final ratings and stats.

To be honest, most of the guns can be carried out in your jacket (MP5, MP7, etc). Big rifles can be carried out simply in a briefcase or ran out by hand.

Never confirmed the boxes thing myself as I just carried them out normally ;)

this is how i done it
play the level "new life" make sure u have ONLY ur sniper rifle
no other weapon run over behind the bush to ur left and drop ur sniper case
run and grab the donuts and go somewhere quite inject them with posion then hide them somewhere were no one will find them then grab ur sniper case and go to the tree house <<save at this point in case u screw up>> now sneak past the fat old lady and if she chases u and goes this is my house blah blah load it again if u make it past get into the tree house and snipe all of the enemies but not the clown,pool cleaner,cook dude or his wife
just let them keep coming but there will be one who will not move from the front door so check ur map and make sure his the only guard left now save again and sneak past the fat old lady again make sure here backs turned
now go grab ur donuts and leave on the grownd by survalince van (says put donut down or something) let them come out and take them back in and eat them go in get in one of there suits and dial the the targets phone (maken him come to the window) go to the garage north of the survalice van and unpack ur sniper rifle shoot the guard out front and then shoot the target though the front window by his phone pack ur sniper rifle up and leave it with ur suit in the van go into the house and follow the wife till shes alone and then inject her with the k.o seringe not the posion one take the neckles go back to the van get ur suit and sniper and then head fo the exit and ur homedry xD :woop:

after reading around it seems that the sniper rank is only one of the "special" ranks you can get. there seems to be loads of strange ones, one involving a piano in its name and one to do with a gardener. those are a couple i can remember off hand, but a chap on a gamespot forum posted a large list. (i cant actually find the link again at the moment lol, but have a browse)

yet to find a description for each but just basically letting you know that if you are having problems getting the sniper ones there are alternatives

Can't remember which he was, as there is three targets you can kill. There is a accident kill though for all three.

Either, weights, light drop above globe or gas cooker sabotage. Have a search round and watch what the target does, follow if necessary.

These are the following that I killed...

-The 2 FBI agents in the beginning with the donuts
- The guy watching TV
- The person who turned on the BBQ thing

Was I not suppost to kill the guy watching TV? Becuase in the acheivement video that you linked us to hitman forum, they killed that guy.

You can't kill the FBI agents with the donuts. Syringe them with the sedative instead of the poison!

thats what I did, I took the donuts from the truck to the left of it, syranged it, and put in next to the van and they picked it up, then on my left screen it showed them eating it then they died.

like MANY people have said, do it on A New Life. After you start killing FBI agents, backup comes. Look at the other threads, they answer your topic.

Hell, just pick a level and kill them while counting. There's really no other way of doing it and us trying to count every person on one level is a waste of time.

I've done it on Curtains Down.It is very easy.Just kill the two targets and all the Guards.Then look at your map and count how many you got and then shoot some civilian.

ok ive finished everything i possibly can on rookie so i just have to play through on the other difficulties and get the silent assassin achievements. quick question, does it matter if you do the same level 5 times to get the achievements? it may sound like a dumb question at first but if you read the achievement description there is nothing to say this can't be done.

The first 5 levels are simple enough without the radar.

I found that a quick look round before a kill does the trick. If it's an accident kill, it doesn't matter. I pulled the trigger on the chandalier in Curtains Down only yards from the target :p

There is already a thread that covers the special rating. As far as the High Roller goes, it's that you have to have 5 mill in the bank. So essentially, you can't spend any money.

B) Kill anybody OTHER than the targets.
C) Have any witnesses
D) Have anybody blow your cover
E) Be caught on film

You can be seen but as long as they don't see you doing something you're not supposed to be doing such as changing into someone elses clothes taking items from people, setting traps, killing/assalting someone. Basicly, only let people see you doing things that you would normaly do if you we're suposed to be there.

Hi guys,
Just wanted to tell everyone how to get a "Silent Assasin" on "Curtains Down" on "Normal"!

Before we start, this only works on rookie (pointless) or on normal (so can help get your 5 normal silent assasins)! You must take either a fully silent and upgraded sniper rifle OR a silenced, high precision, scoped and laser sighted silver baller (don't have duel wield on, it's easier to use 1) !

When you start the level, immediantly go straight up the front stairs, turn left and go to the end of the corridor, pick the lock of the door nearest the end of the corridor, then there may be a guard inside, wait for him to leave then you will be able to move onto the balcony over looking the stage (make sure you sneak onto it so no 1 on the ground floor sees you). Then move down to the other end of the balcony (past the door the guard just went through), now sit in that dark corner and wait for the target to come on stage, as soon as you have a good shot (when in sneak, push up to the edge of the balcony so you can see the target, otherwise your bullets will hit the balcony's edge), using your weapon of choice, put a bullet in his head (now back up into the corner just in case) (oh, and don't worry about the guard who comes onto the balcony, if your in the right place, he shouldn't be able to see you becasuse it's to dark)! Wait a few seconds and the other target will run down to the dead target and cry over him, as soon as he is crying over the dead target shoot him! As soon as this is done, holster/pack up your weapon, walk out of the door you picked earlier and run out the entrance door, mission complete!

I did this in 2:37 and got Silent Assasin on Normal! I hope this has helped some people get a "Normal Silent Assasin" for their achievement!

Pianoman - Well there is a piano on Murder With Crows, that combined with the piano wire (fiber wire) maybe.

And before the game was released, it showed that there was a toaster that could be thrown in a bath for a kill, I would guess that could be the electrocutioner, but i've never found that way anywhere.

Few things Mattumuz...

Firstly, Expert, you don't have to leave in your suit. Whereas you do for pro, same with the custom weapons.

As the red bar goes, it can go red, cause sometimes that just means they are on high alert and will become highly suspicious. You just can't get discovered, have your cover blown.

Also, I think for most of the difficulties, the bodies must not be discovered unless the accident has called the death.

Seriously dude, this is ALL OVER the Hitman boards. You can get them all aside from the Most Notorious achievement as Rookie doesnt track notoriety.

I have a Fully Customized Shotgun, do I have to play a mission for it to count or what?

if you don't use the guns, I would go with not using them, then later after you got the achievement, upgrading. I upgraded the Silverballers, SMG, and Shotgun guns fully, and they just kick ass. If I had the SIlverballers fully customized I would gladly pass about $40,000.00 That is about how much I make a year.

Argh these are annoying i did all zeros in flatline with 3 accident s and i got pro.

Push the dad and poison the cake in wedding i get pro. Oh and how does anyone have sa on heaven and hell you have to shoot maynard john about 50 times.
And vineyard placeed the bomb fbre wired the other guy still pro.

I think on the harder levels you have to be almost perfect, if you place the bomb on the vineyard level they find the dead body and are alerted, I kept getting Professional or Assasin until I poisoned the son and hid his body in a trunk, then I pushed the father over the balcony once he has finished playing the cello. Left in my suit and nobody even batted an eyelid.

Be careful when you get down to the harbour as people keep coming downstairs in the lift and you sometimes get seen before you get to the plane, because it is a worker who sees you the bar only goes to green and not yellow or red, I thought I got away with it but only got a Professional rating.

i ahve tried to use my poison syringe on the son but he is surrounbded by guards in that celler not enough time to take his body into a trunk before a guard whips round the corner

Yer sure, rememeber however, only works on rookie or normal, because you can't get silent assasins on expert or pro if you fire any bullets!

yeah you can use guns the wasys to get sa ratings are you have to leave with EVERYTHINg even the suit you came with never have alert in red have no bodies found unless it looked like an accident and no-one can be killed (accidents dont count) other than the targets

I noticed after a few attempts on Vineyard, that the bomb on the barrel trap, kills the guard at the top by the winch ** This is not classed as an accident**

Bodies from accidents CAN be found, but only if it's an accident.

I'm sorry, but I'm disagreeing with you and so is most of the internet.

I have completed the game 100% and NEVER got a silent assassin when firing a gun, even when not seen (take the Casino level, not seen and sniped the scientist from the floor below and opposite his room).

Please post proof (preferably video) of this otherwise I think it is wrong to mislead the forum. I apologise in advance if I'm wrong, but after days of playing this game I found this out the hard way.

On the Vineyard I killed the son when he is out in the corridor at the bottom of the stairs once he has left the room he snorts coke in. If you hide by the closet (or in it if you like) he won't see you and you can sneek up on him when he stands still for a bit, you just have to check that the people aren't being shown around and the guard is at the top of the stairs, then drag him into the room she snorts coke in through the slim door and dump him in the trunk.

I have found that what you have to do varies depending on difficulty, I think not firing a weapon is a must no matter what difficulty you have it on, on the easier levels bodies can be found as long as nobody sees you commit the crime or plant to bomb etc. You can also get away with not retreiving your suit in the easier levels, I forgot to on Flatline on normal but still got the Silent Achievement.

Just take a fully-customized sniper rifle on "A Vintage Year" and snipe everyone...civilians included.

I did it, bodies found and all, and got it on my first try (on a vintage year...i tried unsuccessfully a couple times on A New Life)

I just got special rating 'The Eraser' but I didn't get the achievement for it. Do you have to get 'The Russian Hare'? That's the one I was going for but I got 'The Eraser' instead.

This is an unanswered question to be honest. Most of the people got the Russian Hare so wouldn't know the answer. I would presume that it's not just the one special rating covered bu the achievement (but thats just a guess ;))

i seen a guy beat it in 33 seconds on professional, this dude is crazy....he wrapped every level 4 min or under...and has vids up for 75% of the levels so far

I need some help, I have tried different ways to get “a special rating” and none of them have worked, could someone give me a detail explanation on how to get it please.

Another things is I have found a very easy way to get the 47 kills achievements
First fully upgrade you sniper (mainly the ammo)
Pick you favourite level where you can hide but still snipe people
Make sure you always get a kill from each shot of the sniper (if its fully upgraded you will)
There are only 30 bullets if you have it max upgraded and if you got one shot kills that 30 people down
So save it then pick up another weapon and count the other 17
This way it’s hard to get it wrong

i got it all i did was what he did:

i upgraded my w2000 sniper to almost all the upgrades i can get and equip the ones with extra clips and where he can hold it steady....then go to a new life go to the treehouse in the far end of the level and kill all the guards you see theres like 20 some...youll have enough sniper bullets with about 4 or so to spare incase you miss...then go do your thing, i poisoned the dude who i was suppose to kill, then sedated the chick stole necklace, there was 1 other agent in the level i went to the corner of the level and sniped him from the ground from a distance and i was done i got the acheivement and the russian hare thing. gluck.

and go to upgrade weapons, upgrade any weapon you choose 100%, buy every upgrade you can, only for that 1 weapon. then start either level, beat it, youll get the achievement, shut off your console do not save! and do the same process over with the next weapon you need to upgrade.

i dont know if this has been talked about or figured out yet just thought ide share it with everyone

i did it one the vintage-level....took a pecil and a piece of paper and wrote every one down who i killed...first shot the guards,the the civilians.

Yeah, I think you can but only on the lower levels. You defo can't on Professional!

OMG, I can't believe people are having problems with this.

As mentioned before on another thread (noticed you didn't search), try Curtains Down and kill the security guards by standing in the toilet, then they all come in, after you killed them all, drag the bodies in to piles of 5.

Kill your targets and make the numbers up with civilians. Then leave.

I searched around for this question and couldnt find it, so if its been asked already I apologize. I just finished the game and found myself about $170,000 short of maxing out the shotgun. Is there anyway I can get more money still? I noticed while going back to some missions to get other achievements I didnt keep any of the money I would have made on my first time through. I was going to go on to other difficulties an get the Silent Assassin achievements but I wouldnt be able to max out the shotgun because not all the tiers would be available until farther into the game. I dont know what to do, any help?

Redoing a level only upgrades your money. Take for example.

Curtains Down - 1st Time - Professional Rating - £300,000
Curtains Down - 2nd Time - Silent Assassin Rating - £500,000

You will only get the £200,000 to add to your pot second time through.

Also, maxing out gun achievements can be received over different games. So you can max out the ballers and the MP4 on rookie, then the sniper and the SMG on normal.

Ok that makes sense. Sucks though cause I got Silent Assassin on almost every level on rookie, and the ones I didnt get it on were because I couldnt for whatever reason. So doing them over and making more money the second time is going to be tough. I figured I could get them across multiple difficulties only problem is Id have to play through most of the game to get to the point where Im actually able to max out the shotgun. Balls....
