Anything? Anywhere? A Google search reveals that the entire Internet thinks some levels have come out in the US already, and they all want to talk about the dumb "unlock key" nature of the beasties, but has anyone who matters addressed the fact that THEY HAVE NOT ACTUALLY APPEARED ON THE AMERICAN MARKETPLACE YET? Ever? At all? I feel like this should be a Kotaku article, or a blurb on the 1up show.

Yeah, this is getting out of hand. I don't know who started the rumors that it would be out the first week, but I'm getting very impatient...

I want these new levels to see if it can get me to 100 percent of collecting the items. Either way, I've been checking everyday. I'm about to quit and not care anymore and see the announcement here.

My wife and I are both waiting for the release of the DLC. I am surprised as well that I found this such a cool game. I downloaded the demo a few months back and then ended up going and grabbing all the games they made for the PS2 and the one out for the PSP as well. As a person who would rather play FPS I have to say that Katamari is kick ass and this BS with the DLC is driving me nuts!!!

Thankfully COD4 should be here from UPS sometime today and will help assuage my anguish.

I too am waiting for the DLC. I refuse to do another 30-100 requests to get the 200 request achievement (my last) since I know I'll be playing the DLC on Normal quite a few times. I was disheartened to learn only 19,000 copies of this game sold, but I will shortly give up my interest in this game and sell it back to gamestop for 15$. This game felt a bit "light" on content, even for 40$.

I just picked up my copy today, and I was surprised to see there wasn't anything to download yet. Well, there are more picture packs than I think anyone needs, but can't really do a lot with those. hopefully by the time I finish the game once through they will be here. If not, at least i still have Guitar Hero 3 and Mass Effect later

I tried to email Namco's support team about the DLC and here is the response I got....

Thank you for contacting Namco Bandai's Customer Support Department.

We do not have an estimated release date available for the Beautiful Katamari downloadable content at this time. Please check our website, www.namcobandaigames.com (http://www.namcobandaigames.com/), for any updated release dates once it becomes available.

Please feel free to contact us again in the future as the need arises.

That's retarded. It's already out in Asia, how hard is it to get working for the U.S.? Ridiculous.

I've registered a japanese Live account, and as soon as I can get an aquaintance living in Japan to buy me a points card and give me the code, I'll try downloading the levels from there and see if they're compatable. Microsoft's form wouldn't accept my credit card since my address wouldn't fit in the japanese blanks, with their Kanji dropdown menus and postal code requirements.

I've also looked up the phone number of Namco Hometek's american headquarters, and plan to begin harrassing them tomorrow. If that doesn't get me anywhere, I'll start spreading the phone number around the web to start a nationwide pestering campaign. Maybe I won't be able to talk to anyone important, but I'll bet I can bother someone else enough that they go talk to someone important.

Oh, and by the way: the extra levels aren't the only unlock keys you can buy there. The most recent additions to the marketplace for Japan are batches of cousins and presents. I guess they're for people who can't manage to find them in the levels.

...I hope that's what they are. I think that's what they are.

i am able to DL all the released content, just have no points,.

if you want everything, its gonna be 3,100 points in total,... mid aswell buy a new game lol

theres 4 present packs ranging from 11 to 12 presents per pack...

then 4 cuisin packs ranging from 11 to 12 cuisins per pack also, i think these are new cuisins and presents that you dont have to find... 200 points per pack...

then theres 7 new map DLs one of which is 300 points instead of 200...

go namco!!!!!!

all you have to do is create a new account under the korea locale and DL the content via the korean account, then sign into your american profile to play...

Present and Cousin packs? Either those are picture packs, or unlock packs for those too lazy to get the presents and cousins legit. Either way, I wouldn't call those a must purchase.

In what way is this different from what I just said about creating a fake Japanese account? I can't get points on that either. Does a Korean account somehow work with an American credit card? That would be a big help.

Update: American prepaid points cards do not work with japanese accounts. I will now purchase an "asian" points card from play-asia.com. This will certainly let me download the japanese files, but will the Ekkusu-bokkusu Sanroku files work with my gaijin disk? We shall see in a week or so.
