I know what you are talking about I was actually hoping for it.

I think there was a mix up with the Guitar Hero II DLC (Ex's and Oh's) and Guitar Hero III. I am guessing they just knew they were in the game but didn't know which one.

But there is still hope for future DLC for Gh3. I want Bleeding Mascara. :P

Yeh some1 put on the xbox forums a link to a site with a banner that said "Atreyu's new single Becoming the Bull in GHIII"
