does this have to be ranked or can it be unranked?

You can get the "Meet Your Maker" Achievement in a Ranked Match or a Player Match. You can also probably find someone from this site that would gladly give you the Achievement. I would, but my Internet is really slow and I probably wouldn't be able to get on. Sorry.
