Can You Use the GH2 controller?

I was wondering if any1 knew if you could possibly use the GH2 controller as a bass or something.

They had a post at 1up.com that said the GH2 and GH3 controllers would both work with Rock Band, but the Rock Band guitar controller won't work with anything else.

Yeah, I read too that the GH guitar will work for Rock band, but Rock Band won't work for Gh because it has the extra bass keys
