So I thought this would be a cool idea. Recommend some music that you really like. I thought of some things you should post to keep this organized, and informative.
Name of band
Style of music
Link to a song (http://www.singingfish.com is a really good site to get a link to a song)
And then any info youd like to throw in
Some things I really want to stay away from...
Bashing other peoples tastes or a band. If you dont like it, dont listen again and move on. No one is going to care that you hate so and so.
So, Ill start this off.
Amon Tobin
Elecronic Drum/Bass style
http://web.mac.com/xfrancox/iWeb/Franco%20Colon/Me_files/02%20Ruthless.mp3
He did the entire soundtrack to Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory which is what this song is from. Its amazing stuff.

As you all know, I'm a massive Metallica fan:
Those of you that do not listen to them much and are looking for some interesting yet defining music, here are some choices:
"Harvester of Sorrow"- 1987 "...And Justice for All"
"Orion"-1985 "Master of Puppets"
"Whiplash"- 1983 "Kill Em All"
Aside from that:
Breaking Benjamin
Rock/Metal
http://hollywoodrecords.go.com/breakingbenjamin/
First Album "Saturate" features the single "Polyamourus" which as played on the game "Run like Hell"
Second Album "We are not Alone" debut single "So Cold" took the band to high popularity as the single soared to the top of the Rock Single Charts.
The band also was featured on the "Halo 2" soundtrack with the Hit Single "Blow Me Away"
Modest Mouse - All CD's Not Titled "Good News for People who like Bad News"
Album of Choice: This is long drive with someone with nothing to talk about
Songs: ALL
Genre: Indie
phenomenal.

metallica - and justice for all (ones perfect while playing a war game online)
I couldnt see myself playing "One" to a war game as the first 5 min are not up to my tempo. This is the first song I ever learned on drums when I was 9 and I reciently finished learning Kirk's Solo. Very hard...

thanks to everyone who has been responding with tons of recommendations. only thing i wanted to say is if its possible to link to more actual songs or sites with songs a click away. Its easy to put a huge list of bands but honestly, most people are too lazy to go searching for the songs. itd be cool to be able to come here and listen to new music with just a few clicks and no internet searching. just a thought....

Maybe try www.amazon.com sometimes they have it so you can listen to songs off of an album before you buy it. I would honestly just recommend the bands home pages for getting an idea of the music. Ill go back and edit my post with all the bands home pages.

I would like to reccomend some music to you. This is for dance music fans which is probably a small portion of the forum. Its called "niche" music. This is also known as "underground house" and "speed garage" but I love this music. Its really bassey and will get you dancing.
This music is from a night club in sheffield called Niche (suprisingly). The club is pretty rough and its always full of madheads pilling their tits off. Its pretty rare stuff and its great music.
If you have a music downloader ie kazaa, limewire, 360share ect. Just type in niche and it will bring up a fair list. Theres alway lots of good remixes of recent songs too.
PS dont search for it if your emo because your not going to like it,;)

Damn, last time I heard a Pendulum track was when I saw Bad Company (who opened for Dieselboy) a couple years ago in Denver and they dropped "Vault" when it was first released (still a white label), it was slammin to say the least.

Im pretty sure they re-opened it, someone got shot outside and now the bouncers all wear bullet proof vests. They did move it up to plug before it was called plug, it was called Zero. The last time I went was about 6 months ago and they made take my shoes and socks off, to check them, looked like a proper tit, pissed up wobbling about trying to put my socks and shoes back on.
I have only ever been twice to this hell hole of a place (not by my own choice) but they are experiences I will never forget. Ive never seen another place like it. But its damn good dancey music.
You heard some of the music?
