Ok I got a new router from my cable/internet company and when I go to play halo 3 it says my nat is low. I done the check bungie said to do and my xbox 360 says I have a moderate nat so how do you change it. Cause every now and then when me and my friend play on live together we will have bad lag and sometimes get booted from the game and I am wondering if that is the problem. I called mediacom and they said it might be the cord I have running to my xbox and I bought one today and I had it happen to me in game once out of like 5 or six games today. What I am asking is could having a moderate nat be affecting me and my friend when we play online? Oh and my router is a smc8013wg

Yes, it is affecting you. It is strange that it affects you so much though. I have a strict NAT and Halo 3 runs fine. I never get a "good" connection on any games unless they are in my geographic area so that may be my problem. Sometimes I can't find a game, but I generally always have a decent connection. Fix your NAT and it should be fine.
its not your cord, it has to deal with port forwarding... check the tech centre forum for a thread called "Configure your Router"

I checked portforward.com for help on your router and it doesn't seem like there is a guide for yours, maybe you could use the SMC8014's configuration?
