Need help- possible spoilers

I can't figure out what to do with the buttons you need to step on later in the game. They say they need to break up or something to stand on all the buttons. I've lost the function to switch between characters and the rest of the two teams across the spike pit gap aren't stepping onto the other two buttons. I can't go back across the gap either. Just need some help from anyone who's gotten past here already.

Edit: Nm sorry this was answered in another thread. Although I don't ever remember them explaining the functions you have to use here during the game. I think that's pretty bad.

yep i explained this i just pressed every button, not a problem as this is the best game i have ever played ever!!!

I dont get it. Can anybody tell me how to get over that spike pit?

All you have to do is:

Take Black for instance, press left on the directionnal pad to ask the first team to followyou. Go to far left side of the arena with team A. When you are in front of the first button, press left again on the directionnal pad showing the button to your team. The two members will stand on the button.

Now step2: go to the opposite side of the arena while still controlling black, and press right on the directionnal pad when your are in front of the 2nd button. Team B will automatically stand on the button.

Step 3: take black only, without touching the directional pad (so teams A and B stay at their posts), and go to the middle of the arena. Stand on the button.

Now the spikes should lower and you can advance.

Thanks for your efforts. It seemed that I ran into some kind of bug the first time I played this scene.

My team was at the pit and NOTHING happened. No enemies appeared on the other side no matter what I did. So the story wasn't advancing and i couldn't trigger the events to come.

After quite some time I realized that one of the team members (must have been Rawlings) was missing. So I ran all the way back to the first large hall and found him running towards one of the columns. Thanks Codemasters! Took me only about an hour at that spot! :uzi:

Anyway, as I came back with Rawlings the enemies were triggered on the other side and I could continue. :woop:
