Does anyone know how long the game play is gonna be? I mean i hope its not like bioshock where the gameplay is amazing and graphics are tremendous but able to be beaten in 10 hours?
really hope its not a -beat the game in one sitting- kind of thing.
If anyone had any info to make me wanna buy the game and not just rent it for the weekend...
Despite all that it looks to be a must play.

I imagine that Assassin's Creed will take a good amount of time to complete. Either way, I'll be buying it because the graphics and detail put into the game look amazing.
@Bludy ASSASSIN: Assassin's Creed will release on November 16th, I'm pretty sure.

Its meant to take a total 40hrs of gaming to complete.
The game itself is like a book, as explained by Patrice in a recent interview.
He said that if you do all the missions, you will get an ending, but if you complete all side missions, and the game 100% you get the full ending like at the end of a book.
But if you miss some missions, you wont get the full story, as he put it, you would miss a few chapters.
Hope that helps a bit.

And about half that, apparently, to just do the story from start to finish.

the gameplay is gonna be long if u do all the sidemissions and collect the flags but if u just do the main missions and kill the 9 people they said that it will take 16 hours

so only 16/40 hours of play is the main mission. and 24/40 is side missions? it does make sense that side missions would take longer though. still not sure whether to buy the game or rent it for a week. but i am sure im going to play the game.

I read on a interview with one of the developer team of assassin's cread that the game is about 8 hours only for ending it with out complete any side quest

I saw that interview as well. That developer actually mapped out exactly how to do the game in the most effecient manner, laying things out so that he could complete multiple objectives on one trip to a given city and make as few trips between the assassin's stronghold and any of the cities. Even with that foreplanning and only completing the bare requirements for each mission, it still took eight hours, so a forty hour game with all the side missions isn't an unreasonable estimate.

I've seen an interview with the lovely Jade Raymond, and she says if you just play straight through the story, it'll take 18 hours.

It'll be in stores in the U.S. on November 14th, remember Gamestop and other companies post the ship date as the release date which is kind of weird. IGN even has the release date as the day before it's actual release. Just remember to add a day from sites like IGN,Gamestop and EB Games.

yea, but its no fun playing straight through. i wanna get as much out of the game as i can. i dont wanna rush through in 2 days, just to say i finished it 1st. im gonna take my time and enjoy it, or die trying!

Exactly, so you'll get plenty more than 18 hours out of it then won't you...

Hello,
im now playing for 2 1/2 hours and its just funny. (2 Stage)
I now have killed two Templar(really hard-bitten guys) and the worlds and walking zones are big.
You can imagine it like oblivion but whit a lil bit from future (GPS and some more).
Its not an game like Zelda .(playing a stupid ocarina or fighting whit a wooden sword)
If you disslike someone you kill him/her and the other say "OMG who does things like that?" :woop:
You walk through the city pushing citizen away or lisen how they say"someone normally wouldnt do that". :-)
Even if you are not seaching for the flags you will find them on your way to your Targets.
I hope the game will be long and i hope it stays funny like now.

Don't you ever say something bad about Zelda again, you...
I was not sure about getting this game because I was worried I would beat it in 10-15 hours... that's what usually happens with the games that has no Live. But I might be getting it now because around 40 hours is quite good for me.

how many achievments do you still have to get?

Think about it: $60 is the same as 7.5 movie tickets. Those movies would last about 12 hours total. A 40 hour game for $60 is a damn fine deal.

took me about 4 days of playing.. around 20-30 hours.... but i still haven't gottten all the flags & killed the templars... so i guess its a 40+ hours game... even more if you try to get all the hidden stuff without a guide ^^

Depends on how long you take. People who wizz through games will get this done within a few days, but if you drag it out and do everything it'll take a good few weeks.

According to gamespot they said 20 to beat it and 50 hours for the completionists. If that's true it doesn't sound too bad, I thought this was going to be another 10-12 hour game that would be nothing more then a rental.

My topic just got closed. What I was saying is this: IGN said it only took 15 hours for every mission and collectible. Why? I'm guessing they played through the whole thing. Do they have different explanations of "thorough exploration?"
Minty
11-15-2007, 06:24 AM
Theres about 300 collectables. Theres probably 100 high points. Each city has 30 civilians to rescue.
There is no way you can complete the game 100% in 15 hours.
AlphaDog Deluxe
11-16-2007, 01:14 AM
That's comforting. I'm picking this up for sure then. But anything is a bad deal after getting 150+ hours of playtime for $30 in Oblivion.

Yeah this game is going to take a long time to complete, well a long time for the achievements. them flags are so hard to find and the world is so huge.

Did you use a guide? Also, looked at mygamercard.net, you posted on the 12th, and now it's the 15th yet the highest is 885. I guess it was a lot more then three hours huh? ;)
Minty explained it perfectly. Just sit back and enjoy the game. Find the stuff yourself. Of course people will map out the locations but that won't be much fun will it? :p

The game should take anywhere from 60-80 hours in total if you play it like 8 hours a day which shouls be somewhere around 10 days or so. If you are a HARDCORE GAMER who plays like 17 hours a day it'll take you about 3-4 days.

420 odd flags to collect and a huge free roaming game...its not going to be a one sitting lol my first playthrough on oblivion took 60 hours and i only did main missions. and this game is rumoured to be about the same size as oblivion.
