Got'em over at Youtube.com/ZoopSoul (http://www.youtube.com/zoopsoul).

Didn't have a lot of time last night, so only got those three done. More to come soon, I'm still trying to get 100 on Uranus. Can't figure out what the tally's for. Beyond that, I should have the 100 Pointer vids up for every mission very soon. Please rate the vids, leave comments, etc. if you like, and spread the love to all aspiring Katamari geniuses. If they can understand the game better, they'll definitely enjoy it more.

Thanks!

What determines the 100 for each level. Is there a certain amount you need to roll up or are there certain items you need to roll up.

ZoopSoul
10-26-2007, 01:41 AM
You both have to be huge and contain a certain amount of items which the King requests.

You're welcome. :) Remember to throw some ratings in there, guys. I think things like this will replace guide writing and paying for strategy guides in the near future. :Bounce:

Would you guys be in favorite of video walkthroughs for cousins and/or presents, as well? I'll be finished with the 100 pointers over the weekend. Lemme know.

Thanks for the support, everyone. Oasis Café is up now. I'll post Shani's and Casino tomorrow night for sure. I've got a pretty foolproof strategy on Shani's Circuit.

God, that Cloud 9 walkthrough saved my controller and my television from a deadly collision. Thanks so much.

I had a lot of trouble on Cloud 9 myself... Took more takes than any of the others thus far. It's naturally a tough stage.

Shani, Schloss, and Casino tonight, along with a personal message from yours truly. Feedback appreciated on the latter, since it's an open question to viewers.

Done. Enjoy, ladies and gentlemen. Please check out the featured vid, I'd love feedback on the ideas.

That was so helpful. I was getting murdered - especially on Roller Roaster and a few others. With your guide I got 100's in less than three tries and with time to spare.

Thank you!

Wow these are really helpful.

In watching the videos, your speed appears to be a bit faster than what I'm able to achieve on screen. Is that just my imagination? Or are there ways to get going faster? It feels sluggish sometimes, even with both sticks jammed forward...

ZoopSoul
10-28-2007, 11:09 PM
I play and think pretty fast... well, in Katamari. :) So that's likely just my years of Katamari coming through. There's no real way to go faster; I recommend studying Katamari physics. Certain items will slow you down if you're rolling an odd way. Try to keep a balanced katamari, as well. The more round it is, the easier the katamari will respond to your movements. A lot of folks just roll forward, which is a big problem. If you note when I play, I try to grab things on the sides a lot by rolling sideways. It's a pretty advanced technique and I don't even do it consciously these days, it's just second nature.

Just practice a lot and that stuff will become a lot easier. :) That's all I did. Even with my past Katamari experience, I was only scoring 20s and 30s my first time through the stages in BK (the 360's controller is off-balance with the sticks, too, which threw me off a bit). But after learning the physics of the katamari and items in this one, I was back on track.

I love that Shani run... Not as good as some of the Japanese players, but it's probably my best overall run in any Katamari game. I'm very proud of it.

I had the biggest problems with Cloud 9 and Dynaville and Seadome. Since every second counts, the problem is that all of those levels have very difficult starting locations. After playing each one 20+ times, and watching your walkthrough, a few things became apparent to me. First, getting large "clumps" of items is huge and key. For instance, grabbing the big clump of fruit from the stands in the beginning, followed by big clumps of barrels and then the seaweed/algae circles in the water got me going. Tie that off with large clumps of cars/trucks in the city, as well as small buildings and containers. Thanks to your walkthrough I learned the breakwater blocks are just gravy -- I wouldn't have even thought to go into the ocean otherwise. Combine all of that with learning how to dash properly through the water got me 100+s on all three levels. Thanks again man!

Fruit stand/meat market in Dynaville FTW. :) Seadome has the worst starting spots, imo... The TV studio really is a blessing there.

YES. These are very helpful, both for finding good starting spots, as well as getting a basic path to follow.

Especially helpful with Roller Roaster. Though I have yet to attempt it, I have a feeling you've cut my time to get 100pts down drastically, and possibly saved me a destroyed controller.

Thank you, mister Zoop. :)

You're welcome, guys. :)

Anybody good with video editing software? I'm wondering if it's possible to do the presents/cousins all in one run each... If not, it'll take a lot of practice and I might put music over it.

The presents pop up even after you get them? I suppose you could always start a new game... I know the cousins are always there.

I just want to thank Zoop. After watching a few of his videos, I have been able to 100 levels by myself. The paths are just there now for me insteand of just the random things to pick up.

Hail Kamatari Master Zoop!

Zoop - do happen to have a video for the Chateau level? I've managed to score in the high 80s in the two attempts I've made, but I don't exactly get how that level works...

If anyone has any tips even, that would be great. Thanks all, and especially Zoop for his awesome guides.

12-29-2007, 07:49 PM
Oh crap. I just caught the end of your Schloss video and heard your explanation on the Chateau. Ok, so no video.

Still though, does anyone have any pointers even if the stage is rather random?

Gotta say, Zoop's videos were terrific help in that game. Provided me with paths to take when I simply had no ideas left.

Just wanted to say that this was my first Katamari game, and I found the walkthroughs helpful. Commentary is good, too. This isn't a slight against Zoop's abilities, but I found that, in my experience, it isn't as imperative to follow the exact routes that Zoop takes as to know where the big piles of items are -- and how big you have to be to get them -- so that you can grab them as quickly as possible with minimal backtracking.

I also used Zoop's videos to help me. Before watching them, I was getting between 50-70 points per game. I couldn't unlock an eternal mode to save my life. The videos were really good at showing the large pockets of items you could grab at any given size. In addition, it hit home the concept of not necessarily immediately rushing off to the next larger area. After watching the videos, I was able to eternal the levels after 1-3 tries. I thanked Zoop through You-Tube, but I'm more than happy to do it again here. THANKS!!!

Just another grateful roller chiming in to say Thanks, Zoop! I finally got Eternal unlocked on Roller Roaster (my least favorite level ever!!) and am hoping that I can get Fancy & Schmancy's soon. I appreciate that you never make us feel dumb for not seeing the solution, that you admit some of the levels are insanely hard. Even as a seasoned vet of Katamari, I found myself feeling inadequate pretty often!

You Rock!

Zoop, thank you for all your walkthrough videos. I've unlocked Eternal mode for all stages thanks to you! Well on my way to 100% collection now, currently at 99%.

These guides are excellent. A+.

I really enjoy watching all of them, even if I don't need help on that level. Your narration is really great. =)

If you don't mind me asking, when are you typically on XBL if I was thinking about sending you a chat invite?

ZoopSoul
02-29-2008, 08:12 AM
Bumping this for my PAL friend who I believe recently got the game. Thanks for all the kind words.

Note that I'm doing some funny N+ stuff now, so you'll have to swim around my vids to find what you're looking for. I WILL correct this soon with playlists on my page for better organization, but please bear with it until I figure out how to do that. =)

As for chat invites, I rarely accept them because I generally check my messages once or two a week, much less per playing time. ;) I tend to get a lot between the Katamari fans, IGN groupies and now the N+ people. I always respond to messages, though (even if dinosaurs may come and pass by the time you get said reply), so feel free to send them my way.

We Aussies appreciate the vids, Zoopster. Granted, I'm an American living in Oz, but that's neither here nor there.

The Neptune stage was annoying me, and I had vowed to myself not to watch your videos to help, but I did it anyway and am glad I did.

And now I have all the cousins and presents! Just have to wait for the inbred Namco n00bs to release the DLC in the UK, then I'll have new planets to make, oh the joy!
