20 http://xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpgHint: Running into walls will destroy your katamari.
For this one you have to run into walls 30 times during a stage. Try to get Eternal Mode unlocked on a level (by getting a score of 100 or more), then just keep running into walls for a while and hit X to exit the level. Do this together with "Speedy Roller" by dashing into the wall.
http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/1+/nw/1oCLiGJhbC8yCBt1GyxTVkRDL2FjaC8wLzJGAAAAAOfn5-nf6cs=.jpgQuick Turner
10 http://xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpgHint: Use Quick Turn to your advantage.
For this one you have to use the quick turn (press in both thumbsticks) 30 times during a stage. Use the same strategy as "Manic Roller" and just jump back and forth for a minute, then exit.
http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/yR/EG/0YCLiGJhbC9ECRt1GyxTVkRDL2FjaC8wLzMwAAAAAOfn5-4pEdU=.jpgSpeedy Roller
10 http://xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpgHint: Zip through the course with Dash.
For this one you have to use the dash (move the thumbsticks forward and back) 30 times during a stage. Do this at the same time as "Manic Roller" by dashing right into a wall.
http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/Wu/nm/0ICLiGJhbC9FCRt1GyxTVkRDL2FjaC8wLzMxAAAAAOfn5--J6UY=.jpgResponsible Roller
30 http://xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpgHint: Roll through the course without bumping into any objects.
Once again, unlock Eternal Mode for a stage, then start Eternal Mode, move forward a bit to grab one item, then quit Eternal Mode by hitting X.
http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/7+/DH/0oCLiGJhbC9GCRt1GyxTVkRDL2FjaC8wLzMyAAAAAOfn5-3o4PM=.jpgNon-stop Roller
30 http://xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpgHint: Roll through the course without stopping once.
You should get this at the same time as "Responsible Roller" if you did it with the Eternal Mode trick.

40 http://xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpgPlay online 50 times.
These achievements all just require to play online matches, so you could join matches and just sit there in theory. However, try to do well so you can work on the cookie achievements at the same time.
http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/l9/G6/14CLiGJhbC9HCxt1GyxTVkRDL2FjaC8wLzEzAAAAAOfn5-iV0Ys=.jpg100 Cookies
5 http://xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpgObtain 100 Cookies.
Please see "1,000 Cookies" for more information.
http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/bj/oY/0oCLiGJhbC9ACxt1GyxTVkRDL2FjaC8wLzE0AAAAAOfn5-03OnI=.jpg1,000 Cookies
40 http://xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpgObtain 1,000 Cookies.
Cookies are earned in the Online VS matches. Since you have to play 50 of those for the other achievements, you should probably get this along the way. Even when you lose a match, you will most likely get 20 cookies or more (in a 4 player game), so if you can stick with that average you'll get these around the same time as you finish your 50th match. If you win some matches, you'll get it faster. Look for planets with the "bonus cookies" turned on, because you can get bonuses for getting knocked out of the ring or losing the most items, so even losing can sometimes net you more cookies than winning.
Note: You can give cookies to friends by throwing them at them, but the achievement won't unlock until you finish another game or a stage in single player.

Work on getting Eternal Modes unlocked in all the levels so you can search for 100% Collection, but once you're done with that, just simply play Egg School over and over

80 http://xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Played for 100 hours.
Aside from actually playing the game (which you'll get most of this time when going for the 100/200 requests and 100% completion) you can just use a wired controller or play and charge kit while sitting in an Eternal Mode stage.
http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/KI/4C/0ICLiGJhbC8yFQRqXCdRGERDL2FjaC8wL0YAAAAA5+fn-y2OMw==.jpgCollection 100%
80 http://xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpgRoll up 80% of the Collection.
Every item in every level goes toward your collection, including presents and cousins. You can check your progress from the tree on the main island. They are split into different groupings. You won't get these until your last level, and you'll most likely have to replay earlier levels in Eternal Mode to get everything. Some things you can no longer get credit for if you are too large, so try to move to new areas as soon as you can, as well as replaying levels so you can roll different areas at different sizes.

100 http://xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpg Completed all Requests in Normal and Time Attack Mode.
Once you finish a request/stage during the normal course of the game, if you revisit that house you can choose to do it in Time Attack. Simply finish each stage again in Time Attack for this achievement. You don't have to hit a certain time or anything, just finish them.
Note: Egg School, Roller Roaster and Chateau Notre Desir do not have Time Attack modes.

80 http://xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpgDownload stages and collect all Presents.
Please refer to this thread (http://xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=41927) for Present locations. You need to download the 7 DLC stages listed under "All Cousins" for this.
The best way to search for presents is to unlock Eternal Mode for a stage. This lifts your time constraint so you can really scrounge around each area. Since we've got a list for most of them, you should be able to get them in Normal or Time Attack though.

Please refer to this thread (http://xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=41927) for Cousin locations. You need to download the 7 DLC stages listed below for this.
Mechanical Katamari (200)
Dangerous Katamari (200)
Perfectly Sized Katamari (300)
Milky Way Constellations (200)
The Weaver Girl (200)
Shopping Spree (200)
High-Calorie Katamari (200)http://tiles.xbox.com/tiles/8R/gx/1YCLiGJhbC8wCBt1GyxTVkRDL2FjaC8wLzJEAAAAAOfn5-oeGO0=.jpgAstronomic Katamari
90 http://xbox360achievements.org/images/site/gp-g.jpgDownload stages and make a katamari over 1,500,000km.
With the DLC stages downloaded, you will have many more stars in the sky (after playing them a few times, of course), then you can just replay Schloss Cosmos and you should be able to get large enough for this. This must be done in "Normal" mode, not Eternal.

Pants,
Great guide.
You might want to add in to the cookies section that you have to earn these yourself. As you were in my room I gave you enough cookies to take you over the 1000 mark but you did not get the achievement. Oh and sorry for leaving the game. I had a family thing come up.
Peace.

Could you add the likely possiblities for the unknown secret achievements? I know they were discussed in the achievement discussion thread.

Thanks, and added. Sorry I left, I was going to quit and go back into Eternal Mode to rack up time, but you kept starting games, so I figured I'd ride out some to get to 50 played.

Yeah, I'll make a note, but I don't want to change anything until we have the names and all that.

Guess are that one is 100% collection, 100 hours played, and 200 requests. I say 200 requests as I saw an achievement that looked just like the 100 requests but has 200 instead of 100.

No sweat bro. I kinda figured that was the case. I did make sure thought you came in 3rd on thise games by pushing you into things. I let the other players win as I hit the 1000 cookie mark.

200 requests? Holy fucking shit, might as well go for these requests and then for the hours. Not even on 100 request yet but I should be close. Got 97 percent collected, hopefully they have more new items on the new DLC stages and etc.

Nice guide, man.
Hey Pants(or anyone for that matter)do you know if the Moon counts as a request? I mean can I just do the Moon 100 times for the 200 requests achievement?
I got the 100 requests but another 100 and the skin on my thumbs will fall off!!

Does time attack count? Do you need to return to the princedom every time, or can you choose "retry level"?
The Pants Party
10-23-2007, 10:34 PM
Time Attack does not count, has to be in Normal Mode. Once you do a request in Normal Mode it automatically send you to the Princedom, so you have to re-enter the stage.
P.S. WarriorPriest... I did end up getting the achievement for the cookies you threw at me, I just had to finish a level for it to unlock. I didn't play anymore online once you left and I got it after doing a request.

I hope there isn't a 100 play online or 5000 cookies, I got the 50 today and been having the 1000 cookies. I need that memory stage to get 100 points and I'm good till they release the new stages. Been working on the game all day getting 100 points on everything except for the memory.

To be safe, I went back to the Princedom. I think "try again" means you didn't like your run and it won't count.

My do game companies seem to like to put acheivments like 50 hours, 100 hours played? I"ve seen this on many games. Do they want our Xbox's to die? Or overheat? I really wish they'd figure out some alternative than playing 50 hours, let alone 100 hours.
It's not the amount of hours that bugs me, it's just I don't know if I want to leave my Xbox on that long, in fear of it overheating, or the dreaded "RRoD" And I don't think you should have to buy one of those cooling system things just so you can get an acheivement.

Eh the 360's dont burn out that easily. Just leave them in a well vented area. And hell if it RRoD on you, you got a 3 year warranty on that. Don't put an intercooler that will just end up voiding your warranty. 50 and 100 aren't bad. I swear i've seen a 1000 played. I think i've only done that for MMOs.

Note: None of these achievements are available at this time. This is their 250 extra for DLC, but they built it into their original list.
Any one have fresh news for those 3 achievements?
I got all the DLC from XBox Live and I got all gifts & cousins but that did not open those achievement.
Maybe there will be more DLC stuff soon :woop::)

Supposedly there will be more DLC. The Astronomic one can be unlocked on the Supernova stage, NOT on the Uranus level. The present and cousin one can't be unlocked....yet.

Astronomic Katamari most certainly can be unlocked on the Uranus level. I just got it, actually.

Just to clarify, s1lence is correct and fuzzy510 is not. I just made a 1,512m km katamari on Uranus (Chateau) level and it did NOT give me the achievement. Time to retry on Schloss Kosmos I guess.

Yeah, Fuzzy is full of it. First level I went to do for that achievement was that Uranus stage and didn't get anything. Went to do School of Kosmos or whatever and got it. So School of Kosmos is the way to go.

so with all of the DLC out now can you play whatever level now to get your astomatical Katimari or whatever it's called? or do you still have to play schloss kosmos? because when I try to play that level I always seem to rool up the black hole on accident and it ends it before I can get any bigger.....

That one is a bit tricky but with some pratice you can do it :)
If you dont want to do this over and over unlock the 100 time request and after do the big katamari 1 500 000 km. When your are in space go near the black hole to get all stuff close to it and work your way away of the black hole ;)

Just a tip for the 50/100 hours played achievements, I believe you need to save your game after letting it sit, otherwise your hours won't count. I accidentally just shut mine off twice after having it sit for 7 hours and then again at 8 hours, which should've put me over the 50 hour mark. I can't confirm this though, but I would assume you have to save it in order for your time played to count.

I know the guide says you should do Egg Tutorial over and over to get the Katamari Lover [200 requests completed] achievement, but with DLC available, I think doing Institute Exactamundo on the Supermarket stage is faster.
Unfortunately, you can't just roll up one item and quit. The King requires you to roll up some items. After about 30 seconds of rolling, you can stop and repeat until you get the achievement. This is faster than the Egg Tutorial, where you have to push A to go through the King's messages that pause your rolling.

Also for the 50/100 hours achievement it should be noted that if you let the game sit in Princedom you have to go complete ANY level for it to unlock. Sort of like the Gears of War THIS IS ANNEX! achievement. So if you're playing and pretty sure you're over 50/100 hours go play a quick game and it should unlock at the end of the level.

Thanks for the tip! I just got this game but loved it on PS2. I'll get up there with you guys on the achievements soon! :-)

Best way i have found overall for getting the 200 requests is to just do each level 10 times (so there are lots of extra stars in space = easier 1.5m km) then just spam the egg school. rather than just spamming the egg school.
This way does of course take longer, but that time does also add up to the 100 hours played

The 100% collection achievement isnt listed as a DLC achievement but it looks like you need to collect items that are only in the actual DLC to get 100%. Could somebody please confirm if this means you cant actually get the 100% collection achievement without the DLC? Else I dont really have to bother trying :(. For instance I'm missing the trash can and some Yarn pieces which according to the item list are DLC items
Thanks Shinobi, guess I'm off to find those last items then :D

It was confirmed that you do not need the DLC to get the collection achievement. Yes, the DLC adds items, but those do not count. It is strongly recommended that you get the collector achievement before getting the DLC to avoid confusion.

For the 200 requests I simply did Exactamundo Katamari in the store. You only need to roll for 5-10 seconds, if that.
If you start on the centre display: Roll straight, hit a couple bottle caps, drop down to the bridge. Roll up the line of playing tiles (forget their names), and take a left. Scoop up the big section of yen coins. Quit out.
If you start next to the yen coins: Roll up all the coins, go across the bridge, getting all the tiles. Run into the mouse made out of lego on the left or right side, you should pick up most (if not all) the bricks. Quit out.
If you start on the table: You go straight, grabbing the small food items, roll off and go slightly left, you should run into the area with the yen coins. Grab them. Quit out.
It didn't take long after that. I spent more time mashing Start/A then I did actually playing.

For 100 hours playtime, I'm just leaving my 360 on with the game running all day while I'm at work. It's just a retarded achievement; there's only one game I've ever spent over 100 hours on (Call of Duty 4 - almost 400 hours now...eh, I may have spent 100 on Halo 3 as well), but this game just isn't good enough for me to play that much.

To be safe, I went back to the Princedom. I think "try again" means you didn't like your run and it won't count.
i can confirm you need to go back to princedom after each time instead of hitting try again.
i had the 100 requests from playing normally and last night i did over a hundred egg schools by hitting try again and i still havent gotten the 200 requests, so that's proof enough for me.
it's good i had my laptop to watch tv shows while i was rolling or i would have been royally pissed that i wasted all that time.
i guess it did help me get closer to the 100 hour achievement though.
