Hello everyone,
Just wondering over here, I want an iPod Touch, since my zune's screen cracked because of some jack-blam-
Anywho, I am thinking of trading in my Black 30 Gig Video iPod and my Wii, gently used on the Wii, three games, and two controllers.
How much do you think I would make from this deal.
And is the iPod Touch REALLY worth it?
I've heard nothing but good things, and I want YOUR opinions, because I trust you more than some Johnny Pencilpusher who might give a biased review.

Don't give up on your Zune! Get it fixed or replace :(
But with all that you're trading in, buy a house.

I don't plan on giving up my Zune, I put 200 bucks into that thing for a speaker set

Hmm...both together you might get $400 or so.
The Touch looks cool, but isn't practical...16 gigs? That's a joke by todays standards, I have 5 movies on my iPod Video and that takes up around 8 gigs alone, then my music takes up around 15.
If they upgrade the memory in the future I'd recommend it, say to 30 gigs, but right now, I wouldn't buy it.

Good Good. Its just me being weird though, I hate fanboys of anything because they're close minded, but at the same time I would feel strange buying an iPod, I dunno why.

Videos I don't use, and if I do, its usually music videos.
My songs take up about one gig though right now, and I have about 250 songs. Never thought of it that way.
iTouch, thats what I call it, can hold roughly 3500 songs, not that I plan on having that much.

Today's standards with size, people seem to not even be able to fill up a fuckin' nano.
If you're not really big on music, but still like it, go ahead. But even then, in that case, I'd go with a nano.

Ok, so now what do you guys think I will get for trading in a 30 gig video iPod and a Wii, three Wii games, and two Wiimotes(one nunchuck)

Pfft. You'd be better off throwing it on eBay.
Trading stuff in always made me feel like I was getting ripped off.

I think 16 gigs is okay, I mean whats the point in having over 100 songs on you're Ipod, I doubt you will listen to them all, It seems silly to have like 1000 songs on an MP3 Player, as for movies, when you watch em, delete em, then put new ones on there, 16 gigs is not good, but not bad at all.

I can't sell stuff on ebay, as such I am not 18 just yet.
Through a store is the only way I have to go.

That doesn't matter. I'm only 17 and sell and buy shit off eBay all the time. I just put my exact birthday just a yearearlier so it shows i'm 18. So, as long as you have a bank account you can get on eBay.

You would trade your Wii and iPod video for an iPod touch? Are you insane? What is Apple doing to everyone? *cries*
Honestly, it's not worth it and I'll tell you why. The way it was designed is completely contradictory to what is available. What do I mean by that? Well, if you compare the screen sizes to the iPod video and the iPod touch, the iPod touch has an awesome crisp huge screen. But here is the rub. You only have 8 or 16 gigabytes worth of space. People buy the really huge iPods for a reason and that's because they want to put a ton of video on there and a ton of music. With the iPod touch, you're paying like 399.99$ for the 16GB when all it can do is play music and videos and you can't even put that much of it on it.
Yes, what is there is great. The qualities are great but the smallish space makes this pretty useless especially since there's an awesome screen and you'll be limited to the amount of video you can load.
I cannot really see anyone buying this thing other then the fact that it's extremely cool looking. There are much cheaper options for MP3s that have great large screens for video playing while offering massive storage. You obviously cannot afford it so I would avoid buying it. Samsung is also coming out with something similar but they also offer small space with 4 and 8GB models from what I remember of them.
Honestly, if it's the "cool" factor that makes the iPod so dominant, I would definitely not buy it. It's not worth 400. If not and you want to sell your Wii on eBay, let me buy it for 200 :D

I have 20 gigs of music and listen to every bit of it.
I love music all the way from early jazz to modern metal. You just can't fit that cross section of music over that amount of time in 16 gigs.
I think it's silly of you to assume your usage patterns should be the norm. Just because you don't listen to more than 100 songs doesn't mean other people don't.
In fact...I have around 400 full albums on there.

Same, I have well over 1000 tracks on my Nano and listen to nearly all of them.
If you want my opinion, don't get the Touch. It's cool but just not enough memory, if you have videos/whatever else you can put on it.

It'd be so much easier to do it on eBay. Don't your parents have an account?
