man, i just dropped my xbox on a concrete surface, at the beginning of my halo party tonight. good thing i'm really drunk right now or i'd be highly pissed. (my woman said i'd be beating the concrete up) anyway, it looks like i'm in need of a new xbox, you guys think i should go with the halo edition, or just the premier package, with the 120gb hard drive?

Yea, sorry bout your other 360.
The Halo3 xbox is supposed to run quieter I heard. That would be a good pickup.

I would prefer the Elite over the Halo console any day, but this isn't what I want. It's what you want.
Both consoles were built tough and should be much more reliable than order consoles.
The Elite on one hand, has a Heatsink attached to the GPU to alleviate overheating problems leading to hardware failure(RRoD). The Spartan Green Halo 3 console is equipped with the new 65mm "Falcon" Chipset. You should notice that it'll be much more quieter and produce less heat.
Both consoles include HDMI, but the Elite has the upper hand when it comes to more memory. The Elite comes with a 120GB HDD, while the Halo console comes with a standard 20GB HDD.
Price-wise, off course the Halo console cost less. The Halo console is priced at $399.99 and the Elite cost $50.00 more, at $449.99.
If you're a Halo fan and you like the Spartan Green color, then by all means, go for it. If you want a bigger HDD, then purchase the Elite.
Remember, you can always sell back out your current 20GB HDD and make back some money. Keep in mind that the 120GB HDD by itself, cost $179.99 and includes the Migration Kit to transfer your tag and all saved games over to the 120 GB HDD. If you decide to purchase the Elite, search for the form on Xbox.com to obtain a free Migration Kit. You MUST include both your current Console ID and Elite Console ID.
No more dropping consoles from now on!:p Good luck and I hope you start gaming again soon.;)

That blows bro but I would go with an Elite too. For the $50 it is DEFINITELY the way to go. I love Halo, don't get me wrong, but the H3 box just looks horrible...

Have you tried your 360? Maybe it hit a specific spot so that it's not broken. From what I read, it didn't sound like you tried it. You probably did so I'm probably wrong.
Anyway, I say get an Elite. The Halo 360 is nice but the Elite is the cream of the crop when it comes to 360's out there. Sure, it's an extra $50 but with everything it has plus being reassured that it probably won't crap out on you, it'll be worth it.

yes i've tried the 360, the problem seems to lie in the hard drive. it works without the harddrive on, goes to the dashboard and all, but whenever i put the hard drive on it, it'l show the xbox360 screen and then the one red light of doom comes on.

If you're not short on cash I'd go with the Elite for one reason... The Halo 3 console is downright FUGLY. Seriousely, I like Halo enough to have the Legendary Edition with the Helmet and I still have no wishes of owning that Halo 3 console.
Of course, everybody has different tastes so it's your choice. I didn't know the new consoles were quieter though.

wellll, i'm sorta pressed for cash right now, i guess i'll just have to wait until i get paid again. either that or sell my other 360 and take what money i do have and buy the elite.
