Saw this on the Jobcentre intranet regarding the postal strikes that are going on atm:

DWP customers who are normally paid by cheque through the post will shortly be sent a letter to explain the temporary arrangements.

Sometimes they use couriers in such events (not those business post people since they use RM too). It is still another of those boxes of matches with a 'warning, hot when used' labels on.

Royal Mail should just sack all of the lazy ass postmen and get someone else to do it, this is the third or fourth time this year they have complained about their wages. Why don't they just ask to have solid gold uniforms and personal butlers to deliver the post for them to make their rounds easier. The polish could do a better job, and that is extreme.

Plenty of jobs out there, stop nicking my taxes. They should fire all the current Royal Mail workers, replace them with the unemployed and just get on with it. No post for 6 days? Even Africa has better services.

I know a couple of posties and my dad used to be a postman, and they arnt thick. And what would you do do without your post?

If they wanted more money then they should have just gone all or nothing the first time, how many more times will they go on strike before the DO get fired or castrated? They have every right to want more for the work they do, but they are keeping the entire service in the middle ages because they don't want machines to help them out, do a better job more quickly and put a few people out of a job.

And I agree that postmen aren't stupid. This is kind of like Bioshock in a way if you remember one of the random audio diaries. Even if everyone was a genius with super high IQs, someone still has to clean the toilets.

That's the dumbest shit I've ever heard, and anyone who's ever earned a paycheck by swinging a hammer will agree.

I have to work shitty jobs because I can't afford college. No help from the parents or anyone else, I gotta make a living on my own or enlist in the military. There's really no other options. So I'm stuck demolishing houses for 10 hours a day swinging a crowbar.

so uhm, yeah students are ok,

but about posties, bloody muppets, the thing is i know a few posties quite well and they are treating this more like a holiday than a strike, one i know has actually gone away to spain for the week, cant be that bad off can they, i work 9 hour days in marketing and havent had a holiday for 6 years.

plus ive canceled my lovefilm dvd subscription thingy, they want the film back in 7 days, but the bloody strike will mean it will be more like ten, plus it was a rubbish film :(
