Who do you guys got? Who do you think is gonna win the divisional series then the championship series then the World Series. Here's mine.
Angels vs. Red Sox
-I got the Red Sox in this one. They are a much better team and yesterday's performance from Josh Beckett will give them a nice confidence boost. I say Red Sox sweep tem, or the Angels win 1 at the most.
Indians vs. Yankees
-Not too sure about this one. Hate the Yankees and don't wanna see them win, but they've been playing good baseball. I'd look to see a Yankees Red Sox AL Championship series just cuz those 2 teams have great games against each other, but I'm going with the Indians in 5 games.
Rockies vs. Phillies
-Gotta go with the hottest team in baseball right now. Counting yesterday;s win they'v won 15 outta there last 16. You can't bet against a team that's been that on fire. Also, Ryan Howard and Chase Utley struck out 7 or 8 times combined yesterday. You can't win when your best players go 0 for 9 with 7 or 8 strikeouts. I say Rockies in 4 games.
Cubs vs. Diamondbacks.
-Now, here's a hard one for me to pick. I'm from Chicago and a DIE HARD Cubs fan, but live out here in Phoenix and the Diamondbacks are a good team. Yesterdays game was awesome. Brandon Webb and Carlos Zambrano were both amazing, but our bullpen blew it. I really really wanna pick the Cubs but I'm not to sure they can do it. We'll see how the play today. I think if they win today, they will win the series. Diamondbacks will not be able to win at Wrigley Field in the playoffs. The crowd is such a huge factor there. They go crazy durin regular season games when we're losing! They are just gonna be nuts at Wrigley Field. I say if the Cubs win today, they win in 4 or 5 games. If they lose, I say D-Backs in 4.

well, considering my preseason picks are no good now (detroit over the mets in the series)... :o
al: i will say the red sox beat the angels (4), and the indians beat the yankees (5). and then the red sox beat the indians (6).
nl: i will say the rockies beat the phillies (3), and the cubs beat the dbacks in (5).
and then the rockies beat the cubs (7).
and finally, the red sox win their 2nd title in 3-4 years in 5 games.

Man, I love your picks and I REALLY REALLY REALLY wanna see the Cubs in the world series but if not the Cubs, I want it to be the Rockies. And I want it to be Rockies/Cubs Vs. Cleveland for the World Series. I think that would be a better World Series because I can see the Red Sox sweeping the World Series and I don't want that to happen. I hate it when that happens.

i agree. it would be cool to see two "new" teams make it. every year it seems like it is the yankees, the sox, the cardinals, blah, blah, blah. ;)
indians vs. cubs would be fun. no doubt.
Nick G 42390
10-04-2007, 08:30 PM
Yes it would. Also seeing as how Illinois and Ohio are within 10 hours of each other. An even better World Series would have to be Cubs vs. White Sox. That'd would be an amazing boost for the city of Chicago. The entire state would be divided though. They already are, but I think there's more Cub fans then White Sox.

Yankees all the way!
Indians are a good team but Yanks only obstacle is CC Sabathia. A-Rod his 7 HRs in 6 games against them and is batting like .437 against them. Abreu, Jeter and Matsui have good numbers too! I think they'll be alright for this series.

Oh man, you have no idea how crazy that'd be for people out here in Phoenix. We had the College Championship game here last year, Super Bowl this year and there's a chance to have part of the World Series played here? Now only if the Suns could make the NBA Finals, this would be a very very happy sports town.

I guess you've never heard of Fausto Carmona.. The guy that's fifth in the league in ERA with a low 3.06? Oh, how about the guy that's 2nd in the league with 19 wins, only behind Beckett. Oh, and Sabathia happens to have 19 wins too, by the way :p
The Indians have the best one-two starting pitchers in baseball right now with Sabathia and Carmona, followed shortly by the Angels (IMO) with Lackey and Escobar.
Yankees better hope that their offense catches fire, because the Indians EASILY have better pitching matchups in each of the first 3 games hands down, and Byrd is quality as well if the series goes to 4..
GO INDIANS!!

for the record~ i picked the indians to win it all BEFORE the season even started. look it up i posted it around here somewhere;)
but the diamond backs have such a young talented team its hard to deny them.

Haha, 18 years? Don't forget, I'm a Cubs fan, I just live in Phoenix. 18 years is nothing. I feel no sympathy for you bro haha. 18 years is nothing to Cubs fans.

Wang is the Yankees best pitcher right now, and he got ROCKED. Carmona is going to pitch one hell of a game tomorrow, and I see them going up 2-0 easily. Clemens better bring it in Game 3, otherwise this'll be a short series..

Yeah I know man. I think it's safe to say it will be Rockies vs. Diamondbacks for the NL Championship. Unless both Philly and the Cubs can pull off a Boton Red Sox type performance and win their series.

Beckett is a much better pitcher than Webb. I love Josh Beckett. One of the best pitchers in the MLB.

Between the Mets collapse and another year for the Yankees being outed in the first round... its a very sad day for New Yorkers. I don't really have a fav team, but I really wanted to see another Red Sox/Yankees series.

D-Backs Vs. Rockies
-Can't pick a winner between these 2. Gonna be a great series. Most likely gonna go to 7 games.
Red Sox Vs. Indians
-I want the Indians towin but I don't think they can get passed the Red Sox. I say Red Sox in 5 or 6.

I think the Rockies are gonna win it all. It just seems destined to happen after all this. I mean, they won a 1 game playoff to get in after winning 13 outta their last 14 then go 7-0 on their way through the NLDS and NLCS. I'll almost be dissapointed if they don't win it all.

Yeah, Beckett is definently a great pitcher. Now it's up to Schilling if Boston has a shot at winning this thing. I say they have they have the advantage now that they're back at home in Boston and the huge win last night. I still think Cleveland will win this and I hope they do. I don't wanna see Boston in the World Series.

Nick G 42390
10-21-2007, 03:02 AM
Wow, 10-1 Boston in the 3rd? Damn, looks like Cleveland blew it. I think Boston's gonna come back yet again from 3-1 to win the series and I think that they'll easily get by the Rockies which sucks. I was hoping for a Rockies/Indians world series. That will be alot better series than a Red Sox/Rockies series.
Blind x360a

Rockies are too hot and Boston is too sketchy. I wouldn't give up on Cleveland yet they still got a chance for game 7.

I think the World Series ratings are hurt again this year with a team like the Rockies making it. It's great for the baseball fans that follow the game but for the rest it won't generate much attention. I'm looking forward to watching the Rockies carry their streak on against one of the beasts from the East. I think the Sox will generate more viewers but just be ready for a Rockies sweep, is it too predictable???
Nick G 42390
10-21-2007, 03:14 AM
If the Rockies sweep the series I think that will be just too good to be true. That would almost make it seem like it was scripted by Bud Selig himself.

Pitiful game from my Indians, but we can still easily win Game 7, we have Westbrook and Byrd that will most likely both pitch against the sketchy Dice-K and possibly Wakefield, so dont give up on my Tribe yet..
Nick G 42390

I'm not giving up on them yet, but if they lose this series they choked, bad. They had this series when they beat Boston at home in game 2. I'll be extremely pissed is Boston comes through and wins the series. I'm tired of seeing the same few team compete for the championship every year. A Rockies/Indians world series will be a good change for the MLB and will make it alot more fair and exciting to watch.

I agree, and not just because I'm an Indians fan. But again, remember Boston has had its share of troubles and that was their only championship in a LONNNNNNNNNG time, so they're not in the same boat as the Yankees, but they still have that "image"
