This is supposed to be a help for someone else who wants to do a complete achievement guide as you know it from many others :)

Fyi: The kills do not accumulate as far as I know.. so if you start a new game the stats will all be reseted. Also killing and reloading a save does not work.

Noble Conan (10G)
Save a Maiden

They shout when you are near them.. you can release them by pressing RB near them.

My Hero (20G)
Save all maidens (secret)

Save all of the maidens

Hands-On (10G)
5 Grapple Kills

Do 5 grapple kills

Man Handle (15G)
50 Grapple Kills

Do 50 grapple kills

Death Grip (20G)
250 grapple kills

Do 250 grapple kills

Fatal Touch (30G)
500 grapple kills

Do 500 grapple kills. Just press B (and then X or Y) to do a grapple move. If you do this during the fight with the squid it takes you about an hour.

Free Fall (10 G)
Kill an enemy by death fall

Lift an enemy with B and throw him into the water

Death Rain (30 G)
Kill 100 enemies by death fall

I recommend you to do this during the fight with the squid. As long as you don't kill the squid the enemies respawn endlessly.

This brings you automatically this one:

Bring out the Gimp (15)
Kill at least 25 enemies during the Giant Squid boss battle

Before killing the squid, kill 25 enemies.

Shish Kabob (10G)
Impale an enemy

Lift an enemy by pressing B and throw him into spikes

Enemy Appetizers (30G)
Impale 100 enemies

If you see spikes during the game, grapple the enemy with B so you throw him into the spikes. You can impale a lot of enemies in the arena before you fight the Bone Cleaver.

Treasure Seeker (10G)
Find 5 treasure chests

Open 5 treasure chests

Treasure Hunter (20G)
Find 50 treasure chests

Find 50 treasure chests

Filthy Rich (30G)
Find all treasure chests

Find all treasure chests. They are spread all over the game. They glow and you can see them from far. You can open them by pressing RB in front of them.

Parry Farm (10G)
Perform every parry kill move

Do every parry kill with every weapon style (dual, shield, twohanded) at least once to get the achievement.

Parry Assassin (15G)
100 parry kills

Perform 100 parry kills

Parry King (20G)
200 parry kills

Perform 200 parry kills. To do a parry kill you have to press B right before the enemy hits you. If it works a button will show up on the screen. If you press the button on time you perform a parry kill.

Slice 'n Dice (10G)
100 dismemberments

Cut 100 limbs off

Chop Shop (20G)
500 dismemberments

Cut 500 limbs off

Meat Market (30G)
1000 dismemberments

Cut 1000 limbs off. You can see the amount after every level in the statistics. If you kill the easy enemies at the beginning with parry moves the counter will go up very fast.

Disarm an enemy

Disarm 100 enemies

The combo is (X)(Y)(B) (which you have to buy) and you will disarm an enemy.

*Find all of the runes on the floor. There are always three of them together. You have to activate them one after another. The order is irrelevant but you have to do it in time.

I recommend the very first level. Take a second weapon as fast as possible and always take cover or roll away if needed. Take your time.

Decapitate a captain with a shield

The move is called "Head Pop" which you have to learn first. (not completely sure)
The captains are the enemies with the shields.

Strength of 10 men (40 G)
Kill 10 or more enemies simultaneously

You can use Void during the very last boss battle when there are enough enemies around.

Not bad for a first copy of sorts, but try to refrain from using words like afaik, thingy, Just do as it says, and try and stay away from Self Explanatory. All of these things take away from the guide itself rather than add to it. If you don't know exactly what something is, don't try and just get away by using thingy or 'my opinion'. Know exactly what you are talking about.

With achievements that have multiple that are similar, still give each one their own description...

But I will edit my "guide" so that it will be 360achievements-worthy :)

Disarm 100 enemies

There is a special move to disarm an enemy. I don't know it by heart so I will add it later.

The combo is (X)(Y)(B) and you will disarm an enemy.

You can then with the two weapons (The one you just stole) press (Y) a few time and chop both his arms off. This goes toward the Dismemberment achiviement.

or

Throw the weapon to the floor and let them pick it up again and repeat to get more disarms.

I just finished hard mode today, and while fighting the final boss I ended up getting the last secret achievement:

I was using Void to take care of the tar men during the last leg of the fight, only tip I can give...

Hi while mucking about on the second level (the part where you have to rescue the crew members) i kept using the graple move where you press B,B slam move i managed to get my combo to about 67 (run out of enemies). So im thinking that on the squid battle where the enemies keep spawning you should be able to get the chained attacker/chain of fools achievements??? have not got to that level yet so if anyone gets to do it let us know if i dont get it another way myself first.

I don't think it's possible because you don't have enough enemies at once.. They don't "respawn" this fast to keep the counter busy..

"Losing his mind" - Decapitate an captain with a shield:

You can get this anywhere in the game, you don't need to unlock/master anything. You just need to equip a sword and a shield:

- A captain is an enemy who wears an helmet an often carries a two-handed sword. He is usually more skilled than the other grunts. You should try and get this at the beginning of the game, because the captains get tougher later on.

- First, you need to get rid of the helmet. Attack him a few times and you will shatter it.

- When the helmet is removed, keep your distance, dodge the captain's attacks with the right stick and throw your shield at him (RT) while he's attacking you. If he's not attacking you, he'll probably parry/ dodge and the shield will eventually break, so be careful. There's no proper lock, so you'll have to aim right at him.

- You may have to hit him a couple more times after the helmet is removed to enable the decapitation (he has to be weak enough, but I'm not sure you can decapitate him as soon as the helmet breaks). Be careful, because you can perform a parry kill against an helmet-less captain, which is generally useful except if you want the achievement.

- the achievement unlocks instantly, as soon as the shield decapitates him.

I have a tip for Losing His Mind.

So, you need to decapitate a captain. I've used shield throw, but it was far from easy to do, and I tried something else. I can't remember the moves name, but it's the one that in the end, Conan swings his blades from both sides of foes neck towards each other, and cuts enemys head off. I did this many times, and no achievement. Finally, I started using the one-bladed Y, Y, Y - heavy combo, which decapitates enemy with the final strike, and I got the Achievement by accident.

This game really needs a guide. Can anyone give me some actually working hints?

- Where can I impale enemies effectively? Bone Cleaver Arena, yes, but anywhere else?
- Is there a specific area where to make the 100 Bolder Throw kills?
- What move causes best amount of dismemberments? Parry kills, dual wielding?

In the end, this game appears to be more time consuming than it seemed.

Edit: I was just playing Hard mode, with "Song of Death Mode" and "Master All Moves". I got 3x60 combo counter, but no achievement. Little later I got 3x100 or something like that, and got the achievement for 100 combo counter. It seems that the x factor doesn't help when getting the combo achievements.

I was just reading other forums and found excellent method for combo achievements.

Chained Attacker & Chain of Fools
In the last level, you have to push a pillar to create a bridge, and when you walk it, it starts to crumble. When you get across, you face plenty of tar men. Dual wield, and use the X, X, X, X (hold) - combo to do the spinning move. This way you can make those necessary hits, just watch out for being hit and stepping into the black ooze.

I finished it with 600 points, obviously missed a bunch but my tips for the following are:

Strength Of 10 Men (secret achievement) - try this during the boss fight with the serpent queen, I forget the name. She has several enemies spawn around her after each phase, the SECOND time a bunch of them spawn I used the fire rain armor power and unlocked this one

500 Grapple Kills - definitely try to get during the squid boss fight. It took me about 45 mins and it is tedious but worth getting out of the way if you don't grapple much during normal playing

1000 Dismemberments - I just fell short of getting this but I think the best method is Y, Y, Y with dual wield to cut both arms off an enemy, it gets difficult though of course for harder enemies that block it a lot

Only problem with Rain of Fire and the Void is that they don't always kill all enemies at once, it's gonna take some attempts to accomplish. I mainly used dual wield X, X, Y,Y to get 1000 dismemberments.

I posted this on the achiev discus thread but just thought i'd put here but shorter version...lolol

For the parry, what i do is,instead of hitting the block button at the right time to get the parry buttons to show up, I just hold the block button and the moment you see a group of enemies, wait for the begining motions of the ememies starting to swing, then you quickly let go and press/hold block again.You will get it EVERY single time. Hasn't failed me yet.

really helpful when there is a group around you and you want to parry them all. But if hit (sword or bow) it will null out the action and will have to try again.

Chained attacker: I got this one near the beginning of the game, against the bone cleaver's army on hard mode, without using any cheat code (meaning you can do this on your first playthrough on normal):

use mainly the X X X X X move with dual swords, try to make your opponents "last" as long as you can (don't use any "finish" moves). When the arena is almost empty (right before the next wave spawns), don't mash the buttons, perform a light combo at a slow pace (X, wait a second, X, wait a second, and so on), that will allow you to keep your chain alive without killing the guy. You may also perform a parry kill (the X with the dual swords is an 11 hitter, or something like that), but you don't need that.

If you need more time, perform a grapple kill (the B X grapple counts as a 5 hitter). If you are surrounded by enemies and need some breathing room, X Y with dual swords will stun a couple enemies at a time without killing them (unless you're next to the spikes near the arena borders). If a guy is laying on the ground unconscious, finish him with X, not Y. Conan will stomp the guy, and that's a quick and safe 2 or 3 hitter. You may also use the B X grapple kill, it works even if the guy is not standing, but you need to time it well otherwise the chain will stop.

It's definitely possible to get the 325 hits here, but you'll probably need to activate the "master every move" cheat code. There's a save point and a checkpoint just before the arena, so you can die and retry for as long as you want. Since this is the beginning of the game, enemies aren't smart and their moves are fairly slow and predictable, and they don't use any unblockable/guard break move.

For Meat Market I found the easiest way is to turn on the master all moves and song of death cheats and start again on easy.
The move you want to do with every enemy possible is BB, the powerslam move. With those cheats on they split into 6 peices, head, body, 2 arms and 2 legs. I managed just short of 600 dismemberments on one level alone doing that. Got the achievement just after the 1st Bone Cleaver fight and that was after a fair few accidental camel punches.
