I have two Xbox 360's that share a Netgear router supplied by Sky.

However, on the NAT settings, one of the 360's will have 'OPEN' as the NAT setting and the other will have either 'MODERATE' or 'STRICT'.

This can have problems with connecting to certain games/players online for games such as Halo 3 (most annoyingly ! and Burnout Revenge).

Does anyone know if there is a way to easily resolve this ? I have already tried creating a static IP address for box 360's but it just seems to have the same problem, unless I have done it wrong.....

Any help will be appreciated !

Thanks in advance.........

The port forward settings in your router are probably only set for one IP Address, you'll need to go into the routers settings to add coverage to the other consoles IP Address.

Clipse, can you tell me how I do that ? My knowledge on this kind of stuff is very limited and I need as much help as I can get at the moment. My Missus uses the 2nd 360 and she is on my case to get this sorted out ! I'm quite happy though, cause its normally me that connects first, therefore getting the 'Open' NAT setting :).

But seriously.... if you can give any more info it would be appreciated.

Sorry, should have mentioned that both connections are wired directly to the netgear Router (it's one supplied by Sky).

Ok first off I'm no IT wizz! I'm a builder, so no laughing if I'm wrong.

I have two 360's connected to a linksys router (hard wired) they both connect fine and both appear as open on NAT settings.

I set both box's up on their own first of all and made them both open before connecting them at the same time, maybe try this first.

Secondly is either of the gamertags / gold accounts set up for a child? Just some people I know who have set up second accounts for children have probs with strict/moderate settings.

Lastly howdy neighbour :) you live approx 5 miles from myself.

Hello neighbour :p

As far as I know, neither of the accounts on 360 are setup for children, but I will double check just in case !

I dont know what you mean by connecting them both at the same time though... can you elaborate at all ?

Thanks everyone for your suggestions so far, I'm replying to this at work at the moment, so will be checking details later on tonight.

Do you know how to access your router control center?

If not, go to 192.168.0.1 and log in. There are three ports that need to be opened for xbox live. They might be for a certain 360's IP. Chances are if your 360 with Open NAT is the one connecting first, it might be 192.168.0.3 and your wives 360 is 192.168.0.4. If she connects, this probably changes.

If you're doing the static IP's right, and the ports are forwarded [I have my xbox as 192.168.0.250 and my ps2 is 192.168.0.251. These numbers never change. The Computer is usually 192.168.0.3 depending if my dads laptop is on.], and the problem still persists, try setting your wife's IP in the DMZ. This tells the NAT to not touch your 360.

Where do I go to set the DMZ ? Is that on the router settings or on the 360 or PC ?

As an afterthought, does anyone know if I would still have problems with the NAT's if one connection for 360 was wired and the other was wireless ? Would one still be open and one Moderate/Strict ?

Any help appreciated....
