Ok, so tonight on RAW Paul London did a shooting star press from the ring apron onto Shelton Benjamin . He hit it cleanly,it looked great and helped make the ending to the match great. Now, from what I hear Mr. McMahon has banned that move and almost fired London once for doing it. So, what do you guys think will happen with all this? I'd hate to see London let go for doing what he does best.

Did the one of them get hurt or something? I haven't watched wrestling in like 10 years, but I don't see why they would ban something if it was cool and no one got hurt doing it.

No one got hurt but it's a dangerous move. Brock Lesner hurt himself really bad a few years back doing it and from I what I've been hearing, Vince is starting to crack down on stuff and starting to ban moves left and right, probably just as a precautionary.

Everything in wrestling is staged and scripted. They wouldn't let incompetent people on stage like real world blue collar guys who use one fork lift to lift another fork lift to lift a crate higher. Not that blue collar guys are dumb but there are some that make everyone look bad. RAW is a huge corporation that doesn't really let mistakes happen and also has lots of risk assesment.

I thought Brock Lesner (spelling) did it at WrestleMania 19 against Kurt Angle and Lesner got a severe concussion or something...I don't know lol...I haven't watched in a few years...lol.

Yup Lesner pretty much landed straight on his head. The thing with that is it was a special occasion move. He had never done it before live, well at least not to my knowledge. So i dont know why he banned it from high flyers, that is one of the coolest moves one could do. I mean kidman fucked it up the first time he did it and nothing ever happened bc of that.

Bill Kidman also got badly hurt before Brock. Bill does his shooting star press very close to the turnbuckle, he barely moves forward.
On the way down his foot caught the top rope which made him land very awkwardly on his head/upper body.

Also there was this Japanese wrestler his name was Hayabusa, He also did the shooting star press and came straight down on his head and his feet pretty much touched the back of his head.

From what I understand You are allowed to do it standing up. Morrison does it sometimes, but they have banned alot of high risk moves. It sucks tho because thats how the Hardyz and Edge and Christian got so big was bc of those amazing matches they always had. I don't think he will be fired since its alright do it but he is touching it very bad

Th reason for all these great moves being banned and ECW being "Raw is War" style is because stupid little kids try to do stunts ike that at home therefore the parents try to sue and start giving wrestling bad rep.......it's fake and little kids take it as if it is real......well ECW was real haha......I also miss the "hardcore" matches in WWE

I can do Backflips and Shooting Star Presses (on a trampoline) and I know that jumping forward and doing a backflip (as your discussing) is definitely a risky move. You have to spin your body in the flip much more as your moving forward, and therefore when your tired in a match your not focusing and we therefore see people underspinning and ouch, just dieing.

Don't ban the move though Vince, it's great action!

Oh well it was awesome to watch though, and Vince won't fire Paul London. Him and Kendrick are performing awesomely since Unforgiven best display even maybe and people know that they will win the titles and have a long run if u ask me and if he does people will be pissed because they are the best on 1 show tag team the Hardy's are gd but not enough teaming enough sort of thing.

Yeah, he did it last night on RAW. There must be some rule where it can't be done from the top rope but anywhere else is fine.

Just a Random note.
I believe the shooting star press was created in Japan based off Hokuto no Ken or known in America as Fist of the North Star. A popular Japanese Manga/Anime.

But back on topic, after Brock's screw up with it, I figured they'd zero tolerance it.
