So i am taking a class right now that is requiring me to "innovate" something (create something i.e. if the pen never existed to make it), and having a ton of trouble figuring something out. Does anyone have any idea's theyve ever thought of for something to help them out that they always wanted but never saw existed before, or ways to make something better for example? (i feel like i always think of things i want to create whenever it doesnt matter but now that i have to get graded for it i am blanking completely)

It can be about anything, i just need a start.
Thanks

A toilet seat that had some sort of heat source inside of it so, during the winter when nature calls, your cheeks don't freeze as you try and sit down to do your business.

Seriously. I thought of that years ago and always thought that would be a neat invention.

Seriously. :p

Can it be very basic, or must it be complex?

something that would be cool to invent would be a disc changer for your xbox. for people like me who are too lazy to change the games, just have a remote that puts the disc/game you want in for you.

You'll need to pay me for my ideas.... =P
but just think about something that everyone does every day. an example would be showering/cleaning themselves. i know this may sound odd but try creating a multipurpose liquid--- body wash, shampoo, toothpaste, shaving cream all in one. kinda gross i know, but does it have to be realistic?

yeah it has to be more-so realistic and to be described as much as possible (obviously some idea's not everything will be known about how to create it, although should have a general consensus). Everything i try to think of i look on google and sure enough i see something about it.

or just a tower of circles, have like 8-10 branching off from a center device. its connected to your 360 from a part connecting to the center device. just hit the number of which game you want to play on your controller, and that arm rotates it and exchanges it with the game in your 360's disc drive.

or you could come up with some wireless a/v cables. that'd be pretty schweet.

How about a wireless hose! The water molecules will break apart and go to the handle (jk, but an awesome idea!)

They have better than that already, called smart switches. They are energy saving devices that have motion sensors and timers. Funniest thing was at work one of the guys don't move too much I guess and it kept turning off on him. lol

How about an on screen controller so that people who were paralyzed could play x360?

Using an eye motion sensor.

That's a badass idea....I've always wanted to see something like a soccer ball pump that is inside the balls. I know they have it for basketballs but it doesn't seem like it would be too impossible to transfer to other sports equipment....unless they have it already and i'm missing it completely. But i would love to see it on soccer balls such as the Adidas Teamgeist ones that they used in the 06 WC. I have 2 of them and although they are great, they constantly lose air.

I had an idea to combine a front loading washing machine and a dryer.

From the outside, they basically look the same. So after the wash load is done, the water shuts off and the blower for the dryer starts up.

I know it would take longer to do laundry since you can't do 2 loads at the same time, but I think it would work out really well for people who live in smaller apartments, that way they wouldn't have to travel to laundromats or use the community washers in their buildings which are always ridiculously overpriced

the game disc changer idea is actually really clever... people would buy it like hotcakes because people are lazy. they have it for cds [and dvds?], so why not games?

the game disc changer idea is actually really clever... people would buy it like hotcakes because people are lazy. they have it for cds [and dvds?], so why not games? Because it has to be built into the console. Those multiple CD and DVD changers (which are really convenient for parties and T.V. on DVD marathons) are all physically the DVD player; you cannot buy an add-on to make your $20 player into a 6-DVD changer. The same thing applies to Xbox. They could almost certainly create one, but it's have to be built into the console and thus raise the price relatively significantly. If the 360 was $450 a lot more PS3's would have been sold, so it was probably wise not to. But you can't really connect a multi-disc changer to your Xbox without heavily modding it and voiding the warranty; it's not something you can plug into a USB-port or into the disc holder. You need the eye to read the game, and it can't be done indirectly.

Especially croquet. Have you ever banged your ball so hard it deflated in the middle of a match? Bill 'Hotshot' Johnson does it all the time in the International Croquet Mastershipness Finals, he's a beast.

I have a few ideas that are pretty weird but ever so wondeful, like an alarm clock that can turn on your bedroom light to wake you up or turn on any random electrical appliance in your room to get you out of bed.

Or how about taking advantage of next gen technology and have a roll-up laptop. The screen and keyboard are in one piece that can roll into a small diameter tube for easy carriage, all of the other hardware/software is kept on a removable harddrive that is too very portable and connects via USB to the screen and keyboard. This can also double as portable storyage so you don't always need the laptop part. You may be thinking 'Hey. How do I see the screen if it isn't supported?', well there is an equally portable stand that folds up when needed but can keep the screen at a comfortable position to view and is totally adjustable.

Or what about an under-sea utopia for all of the brilliant minds to congregate and advance human understanding and knowledge without the limits of the modern world? You could call it Zefture.

Ummm, nope, they're separate, and if they do sell them, I've never seen them.

Ok, this is probably directly related to the above post regarding the wonderful differences between us and you.

I play croquet rather frequently, and every croquet set I've ever seen has wooden balls.

Except for Mondo Croquet. Those guys are just damned weird. Imagine a group of people dressed up in renaissance gear playing croquet with bowling balls and sledge hammers.

They use solid balls here too, Hotshot Johnson is just so beastly he can deflate them from twenty paces.
