Are there wireless signal boosters?

I have a Netgear router. My comp room could not be any farther from my game room (upstairs across the house). On the dashboard it tells me I have one red bar of signal, and that has got me by (9 times out of 10 no lag). Thing is, I really cant host games (ranked GOW) without someone complaining of lag. And in like H3 my signal bounces from green to yellow and its very annoying.

So my main question for all you tech heads is:

Are there signal boosters that are efective in extending the length and strength of your signal. I heard of things you can plug into wall outlets as kinda of a waypoint for your signal. Ive also seen antenas , but my router doesnt have and outlets for adding things. It only has 3 more ethernet outlets.

Any help guys would be awesome

You could do like I had to do. I put may modem and router in the middle of the house and use my 360 on one end, laptop in the middle and desktop on the other end of the house with the usb wireless plug in. Hope this might be an idea for ya.

altough its not always your signal, can be your internet, as my signal is fine nearly to the top on me wireless, tho i host a game for me m8s and they say its laggy, its might be your signal, but not alway that ;)

Actually they are called wireless repeaters. Range extenders are the name they use to dumb it down for consumers.
