I think thats right...

Just wondering, I was suprised to find out that my friends 8 year old cousin speaks 5 different languages!

So how many languages can you speak, what ones, and how well?

I can speak English (I know... AMAZING!), Learning German, and know a incy bit of Portuguese, French, and Japanese. But not enough to string sentences together, just odd words.

I speak fluent English and even that isn't fantastic. :p

I've taken Italian in school for 8 years on and off and I remember some of it. It's nothing impressive but I can make sentences (most of which are funny because they purposely make no sense) and understand some words when I hear it spoken.

I speak Fluent English obviously, and my parents are from Germany so i go there to visit family so i speak fluent German as well. Then we travel to the Caribbean alot for vacation so i know the basics of Spanish and a few French words. German has 3 different dialects too, depending on what part of the country you go to.

Just english and kurdish. I used to know welsch fluently since i lived in wales but I moved when I was 8 so I don't know any of it anymore.

My mom is pretty good. She knows arabic (majority of the different tongues), kurdish, english, persian, and some others. But an 8 year old knowing 5 languages fluently is extremely impressive. Very intelligent person.

Naturally I speak true English, not that mainstream American version, but I do know a few others. I can fluently translate bad English to English, I know a few random Russian things, I speak poor German and I know some random Japanese things thanks to One Piece.

I don't think I'd particularly want to be fluent in something else, but since I want to visit Japan, Sweden and Russia I figure I might as well learn a little bit more so I can at least survive.

I know a little spanish, from my days in high school. I mean, you can't show up for spanish class all year and not learn something. I also know a little arabic, german, and a word or two in russian.

English is my first language, but I've taken Spanish for 5 years throughout high school and college. As far as Spanish, I'd consider myself a little more than conversational, but nowhere near fluent.

I'm also trying to teach myself Russian. I wish I would have taken it in college, would have been much easier.

I speak English as my first language. I'm taking Spanish in school right now, and I'm in my second year of it. I would say I'm alright at it; I usually get A's and B's on tests/quizzes, so that's good. But I can't wait until I don't have to take it anymore: one language is enough for me!

I've studied French for 5 years so I can somewhat speak and understand.
Understand Spanish if they talk slowly, but can't speak it.
I can understand Brazilian as well, but can't speak it.

I speak fluent English (being from England of course.) ;)

I also understand simple French, and can also speak simple French. Nothing spectacular though, more like 4 year old conversations in French. :D

Hardly anyone who takes French in Canada even memorizes it. I took so much french and I hated it. I can just remember the basics. Unfortunate thing is that Canadian French is too arcadian and that the French in France frown upon it and don't even understand it. Someone explained to me that Canadian french is "dirty french" to them.

but this my basic french skills : j'emapple rozin. I probably spelled it wrong too.

I speak perfect English and a decent amount of Spanish. My French-speaking is so rusty, it's cracking. I also know some basic terms in Italian, German and Japanese. But I'm proudest of the fact that I can swear in a dozen different languages (so I can bitch out the cab drivers all over the world!).

Unfortunately I'm very limited in my speech, I can only converse in English.

I can say a few basic words in German, French, Spanish, Japanese and Latin (which I took in H.S.) but beyond that, I'm just a stranger in a strange land, as they say.

English because I am english, and then I did German for at school for 5 years (getting a C GCSE for it). Thing is though, put me into a normal daily convo with a German person and I'll be screwed, learning the language just isn't enough, understanding the accent is incredibly hard!

Anyhoo,

I speak and write almost perfect english, sometimes I mix words up 'cause i'm originally from the Netherlands.

So that's my second (or first) language, Dutch and when you can speak Dutch you sorta know how to speak German.

I can speak minor Spanish and Italian, Some Arabic (mostly cursewords) and French.

I learned most of it at school, some of it from friends or holidays.
