Twas the night before Halo, when all through the land
not a gamer was playing, they all had plans.
The pre-order receipts were handled with care.
In hopes that Master Chief would soon be there.

The gamers were nestled cold and uncomfortable in their lines.
While visions of plasma nades and shotty pwnge danced in their minds.
My friend in his Halo shirt and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a Halo line nap.

When at last the doors to Gamestop flew open with such a clatter,
At once a hundred nerds were alive with chatter.
Away I sprang up, my pants soon told me what I already new,
I had spilt my limited edition Halo Gamefuel.

The fluorescent light on the game's display
drew me in as if to say..."Come play"
When what to my wondering eye's should appear
But a clerk bringing out legendary editions and sweet new Halo gear.

When at last they began calling names my stomach felt sick.
Maybe it was nerves or the guys that cut in front of us...Dicks!
More rapid than a banshee at last my turn came
I couldn't help but giggle like a schoolgirl when they called my name.

Now brutes, now flood, now marines!
On Cortana, on Arbiters, on sergeant jonshon and commander Miranda Keyes!
Out the door, to the car, and away I flew.

As I laid on the peddle there was no time to stop
When up from behind me there sprang a cop.
So I pulled to the side of the bank.
This would have been a much different story had I been driving a scorpion tank!

Good evening sir. Do you know the limit at this time?
Sorry officer I have to get home and stop the Gravemind
After a second I heard him speak...
License and registration you Halo geek.

At last I was home and not a moment to soon
All I could think about was all the noobs I would soon send to their doom.
From my face I could not wipe the smirk
for I had already called in sick to work.

So here is where I must say goodbye.
I've got some co-op on legendary to play with some guys.
Time to go i've got a Jackal in my sights.
"Happy Halo to all, and to all good night!"

Where did that come from? Props to you if that's your own creation.

As I was reading it, I had a good visual in my head of what was happening. Very clever!

Wow. I can't even write a poem of this quality of school and you can do it about the night before Halo 3! I hate you.

Just kidding. Its very good and very accurate ;).

Very creative to whoever made that! I, too, could picture that happening in my mine. :p

Glad you guys liked it. It was of my own making. I had the idea from the christmas poem. Halo 3 was such a big night for a lot of gamers that it was kind of like a holiday so I blended the two. Thought it was amusing and had to share.

Any of that directly based on your experience? Such as the whoe cop thing?

Some parts didn't rhyme, but it was still cool.

That's awesome. I wanted to experiance the joy of standing in line with a bunch of sweaty nerds and nabbing one of the first Legendary Editions sold at midnight.

Alas, I could not... though your poem is entertaining enough. I could visualize[sp?] everything that happened, right down to spillind Mountain Dew on yourself. Which I have done, just to put that out there...

Good job though.

Nice one fella, but it's not the night before the release anymore. ;)

Good imagination though, if I had the creativity and patience for stuff like that, I'd be up for doin' it, but sadly, I don't... :(

Keep up the good work.
