If many of haven't known we just broke the record for # of people on our site on Sept 9 with seven hundred something people... I think we should all band together and go for not an NBA Live 1000 but a x360a 1000.

Absolutely nothing..but that's the fun of it.

In other words, when 1000 people have joined the site, try to get them all online at once. Most likely, a new award would be created for this that would go in everbody's award showcase that was logged on to the site at the times specified.

Useless, but so are the achievements that we're all here for.

and i don't think an award would be in the works... awards are hard to come by around here, and are given out when you benefit the site, improve the site, etc., etc. we can't go around handing them out like candy, or they will lose their merit.

I think if the site has 1000 users on at once it should be legit and not organised. With the amount of new people joining it will happen someday. I just think its not right, as the statistics will not reflect the site properly.

I'm not offended, if it was possible legit I think it would have been done already... Anyway for as long as I have seen the site a lot of poeple I knew and saw on the forums haven't been on and/or posting. Also the new members we get don't stick around too long! I always see the same people on the forums in every thread I look into...

actually, we are growing at a pretty incredible rate, as it is... our numbers have sky rocketed in just the past few months. so, it is certainly not out of the question to see 1,000 active members on here in the coming months. especially with all of the huge titles coming this holiday season!

Well I don't want to speak for the admins, but we have discussed doing an event to bulk that number up but decided against it. That number is important for them to gauge site growth and peak usage, and if we bump that up artificially then we can no longer use that value as a benchmark.

which promotes and includes being an active member of the community and playing in a competitive tournament with other members. we do not allow just anyone to play in tournaments--you have to be an established, active member.

if you do not think our tournaments benefit the community, then you obviously have not been in one and/or played games with other members of the site yet.

(we always give awards to the top performers in tournaments. such as the forza one, being scheduled right now...)

No, I haven't played in any tournaments. The main reason being my connection. Also, there never seem to be any tournaments at the time of having a good connection (when I'm out of town) that I can play in so it's really not my fault.

While I don't doubt in any way that it helps the site improve...wouldn't urging 1000 of our members to be online all at once do the same thing? I mean, we supported having 1000 people online at once in a basketball game, why not on the actual site?

you are an established, active member. by a long shot ;) the tournaments only require a couple hundred posts and a couple months of membership... so sign up already!

the basketball thing happened, because it was for an achievement. (we are an achievement site, after all) this would not be for an achievement.

and, most importantly, like was mentioned--it would skew the actual statistics that we rely on to gauge how everything is going.

Of course, I do see how you want to keep the statistics accurate. Urging 1000 people to get online at the same would completely ruing the experiance of the site...

I was apart of that 700+ group a few weeks ago and I think achieving 1000 members online would be a great accomplishment if ONLY done on it's own.

If we set up an event for it, which can be done easily and it happens... we would be tricking ourselves.

It'll happen one day guys. Just make sure that YOU are logged in everyday to check things out.;)
