The Duke Comes Back With a Vengeance

Not so long ago, modder Ben Heckendorn put a PlayStation 3 SIXAXIS inside the shell of an Xbox 360 controller. Not happy enought with the PS360 controller (http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/13260/Its-Alive-Its-Alive-the-THREESIXTYAXIS-Controller/), now BenHeck has put a wireless Xbox 360 controller inside the enclosure of an original Xbox controller.

For some reason I have put the guts of a wireless Xbox 360 controller inside of an original, huge, 2001-model Xbox 1 controller - commonly referred to as “the Duke”, though what it has in common with John Wayne is beyond me.

Based off the difficulty of this mod (harder than I would have liked) and the number of other projects I have going on I probably won’t duplicate this anytime soon, so first come, only served.

I stuck with my 'S' Controller. :)

I also hated it. It gave me cramp after a couple of hours of gaming. I was over the moon when they released the 'S' controller, never had cramp in my hands since. :p

360 controller is the best controller I've used though, whoever made it deserves a medal.

I've actually never heard of "The Duke". It looks too big to be comfortable to play with, hahah. :p

"The Duke" wasn't the most fun controller to play with, however if you needed a blunt object to beat the snot out of someone with it should have been your weapon of choice.

hahahahah. when we did multiplayer at my house I had to use the duke. although, i did prefer it to madcatz and pelican controllers, the ones that have joysticks 3 inches off the base :p. i think those controllers look awesome though.

Weird thing. I love the 360 controller...yet I hated the controller S. I have a Duke and it's pretty much the only thing I use on my old Xbox. I'd pay for that.

Only thing that could make it better would be turning the giant Xbox jewel into the Guide button rather than putting in that little red... thingy.

I miss my duke...I think I left it at my friends house, although its not of much use as you have to slam the B button to get the controller to recognize the command.

Moral of the story? Keep your mountain dew away from the controller.

I've never actually heard of it called "the Duke," usually I hear it referred to as "the fatty."

As in, "hey there friend, do you prefer the S or the fatty?"
