I think this is one of the most amazing moments in sports history right here.

My vote, stamp it with an asterisk. Then send it in.

Go to the site and vote, and also post your vote here because I would love to see what the x360a community thinks.

It shouldn't count!!! HE OPENLY ADMITTED TO STEROIDS, he said he took them without knowing, whether he did them knowingly or not, he still did them!

Sorry i've never heard of the guy, i'm from England and we hear nothing about Baseball (i think HR stands for Home Run??) unless you stay up tilll like 3am to watch it, i guess this guy is like a legend then? Has he broke some kind of record?

I guess it's like asking Americans who David Beckham is, only half know yet he is the most recognised person in europe and asia.

To bad the recognition because he was a great player stopped years ago... now it's just cause he is a pretty boy.

The man is a disgrace to not only Baseball but to the term Professional as a whole. He deserves no record and should have been thrown out of the MLB years ago.

you have to keep the ball in the hall of fame, regardless of whether he cheated or not. so yeah, go ahead and put an asterisk next to it. but you can't just get rid of it or ignore it. ;) it is a huge piece of baseball history—even if it is a negative one.

So did you vote to BRAND it... with an asterisk like he is wanting... literally with a hot branding iron? or just to have a note on the wall next to it? Option 2 is not nearly as fun.

Whoops!! I forgot there are people from England here!!

To sum up bonds in a nutshell...

He went from the size of David Beckham to the size of Arnold Schwarzenegger in about 7-10 years... He was french fry when he played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and suddenly started growing later and later on. He started passing people up on the all time list and started to get noticed. He openly admitted to taking steroids "but unknowingly" as he says his trainer put it in his protein shakes and creme. He is a complete Meat-head who has no skill... True skill is like A-Rod where he isn't a HUGE MUSCLE HEAD and doesn't put his whole body into a home-run, he has one simple stride...

I could ramble on about baseball as I am a huge fan of the sport and the yankees but I wont bore you to death...

plus I'm watching the Yanks game!!

That tell-all book Game of Shadows claims these figures against Barry Bonds:
Chest size: 42'' > 52''
Shoe Size: 10.5 > 13
Cap Size: 7 1/4 > 7 1/2

So yeah, I think something was definitely going on. There's really no reason for a middle aged man's shoe or cap size to grow. By the way, I voted for branding it and submitting to Cooperstown.

Now, I'm English and no very very little about baseball.

Based on what I've heard, this guy took drugs that increased his playing ability. If that's the case, the record shouldn't stand. So, I voted for BANISH!!!

My dad lives in Cooperstown and says the whole town could care less what happens to the ball, and if they did in fact put the ball up there that means eventually Bonds would make a trip up there sometime. EVERYONE in that town hates him.

Many of the best home run hitters such as Hank Aaron even said themselves that steroids will not make you a better home run hitter and supported Barry Bonds.

Steroids does not improve accuracy, timing, and all sorts of other things. Only thing it improved is his swing speed. Anyone can swing a bat really fast. What separates Bonds from us is that he has the knack for timing it perfectly.

Are you going to tell me that steroids helped Bonds hit the most ridiculously thrown balls? Sometimes people attempt to throw balls and he wacks a home run. Steroids didn't do that. It takes so much talent to hit a single home run. If you play baseball, is the first thing you will think about is swing speed? No. Timing and Accuracy neither of which can be physiologically enhanced through steroid use.

Anyways, I said brand it. He earned it. Now if he used steroids for example for a sprint record or was using steroids in hockey or football, then I have to agree it's wrong. But the guy runs slow and has almost no athletic ability. He just hits a ball which pretty much is all timing and skill.

SO you time a hit you still need the strength and speed to make it go anywere.

i agree with you, perpetual...i play baseball, i know what it takes in terms of coordination and timing (it is one of the single most difficult acts to do in sports: hit a pitch in baseball). and i also know bond's eye and ability are rarely matched by any other hitter. he is a hall of famer, and would be without steroids. but like i said, the one thing steroids did do for him is make all of those balls that would've been doubles off the wall or warning track fly-outs into Home Runs. and you know if you watch baseball, a lot of shots are "almost out of the park" for many hitters--if they had some extra muscle behind those shots, they could've been dingers too. thus, the reason for bond's dramatic jump in home run totals from those consistent years to the next level up.

*no pun intended for the use of the word 'shots' to describe the deep hits ;)*
