Achievement sound?

Now I don't know if there is a thread for this already but I looked and didn't see one. Anyway when around the house I always hear the achievement unlocked sound. I'm not sure if anyone else suffers for this I read in a magazine that people also get this but I was wondering if people who are used to getting achievements like people on this website also get this sound?

I tend to get it sometimes. It's rather pathetic on my part though seeing as it's only an achievement and I should only be hoping for them in a game:p

Hmmm so I am not the only one :D. It's like im sitting in my room on the Xbox and then I randomly hear the sound but no one has come online, no content has been downloaded and no achievement.

I have never heard a noice around the house that I thought was the achievement sound. This may sound strange (but whatever) Creech and I have tried duplicating the sound to each other when hanging out. I must say, it is pretty hard to do. :p

I think some phrases are catchy and just stick with you as well. I mean play Two Worlds and you'll want to say methinks all the time mayhap lol. After playing BioShock for some strange reason I like how when you rescue a little sister she pushes her hands away and says No ..No..NO NO...No for some reason I find that funny, and it sticks in my head. Of course when you say such catchy phrases to people that don't play video games they just look at you like you are nuts...lol but I still laugh.:p

I hear this noise no matter were I am. I was at a party a over the summer and out of nowhere I heard the noise. I swear I scowered the house looking for the 360 to no avail. This was happening to me one day in my Spanish class, but I asked the fellow Xbox 360 player next to me if he heard it to and he said yes, so we concluded that it was the Dell PC making the noises (Our teacher was using it at the time).

My theory is... that sound existed in all of our minds before 360 came out...Microsoft used windows to hack our minds and find out a common ground between all gamers.... they found that sound lingering in all of our minds and it was neurologically linked to achieving something in real life. Therefore they decided to rip that sound from imagination land... and place it as a sound that plays when we unlock and achievement ergo instilling a positive feeling within the gamer.

Oh my gosh, I hear it a lot too. I didn't think it was that common but it's because I love that sound (love getting achievements). I hear it in and out of games but every since I heard the sound and looked to see I got the 100 mil achievement on GH 3 (I didn't know it was accumulative) I always look up when I hear that sound.

It's like they purposely play the sound quietly so you're always alert to the game and it's permanently engraved into your head.

Yea its not as much around the house as it is when your playing and you hear the noise or atleast think you hear it, and nothing happened.

The ultimate worse is when your freinds sign on and it makes that sound and you think its an achievement unlocking and your like "Yay" and then you look down and your Like "wtf bastard", does this happen to people?
