This maybe a thread some where else. HGH and steroids have been the big issue in almost every sport recently. Do you think it is real that big of an issue? I don't know i f i think it is. Lets take Bonds becasue well that is the biggest case. I think it is evident that he has got bigger muscularly over the years and lets say for the sake of this argument that he has juiced (he has yet to piss dirty) does the juice help him have the hand eye coordination to hit a 90mph fastball? Hell if you get a bat on a 90mph baseball and hit the right spot on the bat it is gonna go far. Look at A-rod i don't think he is nearly as musclar as Bonds but he still hits what 40 to 50 a year. It obvisuly hasn't help his speed cuz he is pretty slow on the basepaths. I am not defending Bonds nor am i a fan of his i am just intersted in if HGH and roids are actually changing the game as MLB would have us believe. A big deal was also made about Mark McGwire being on Androstein which was a supplement that came on the market and is bascially a step below steroids in potency? Did this really help him hit all those homers in the record breaking year? What about football? Bill Romanowski openly admitted that he juiced all through his career did the juice help him be a better linebacker or did simply just make him angry and attack people after the play like he was know for? I think in some respect fans and owners are responsible for the use of these drugs. We constantly demand faster stronger guys, but never consider the limits of the body. All this talk of HGH and steroids make me feel sorry for the athletes that are musclar or become musclar through hard training because they automatically get accused of used one of these drugs. Where does it stop?

the roids helped bonds with bat speed. bat speed is where you get the power. he's a piece of shit and i can't wait for a rod to take the record.

it is an excellent point, getbusy. i said similar things in the other thread about bonds. it does not give him the same pitch recognition, coordination, etc. But, it does make all of those balls that he hits well, but just don't quite get hit right (ones that would be deep fly outs or doubles off the wall even) still get out of the park and become Homers. So, they have increased his performance dramatically in that sense. I do agree with you though for the most part.

i agree with everything you all are saying. I mean, look at bonds. when he started with the giants in '93, he was a little skinny guy who could run, hit, and field. now look at him; he's got the whole "look at me, i'm riding a chicken" look going on. his upper body is wayyyy out of proportion with his legs. which is really kind of weird, because when you hit in baseball, most of the power comes from your hips and legs. Anyway, beside his name in the record books, there should be an asterik (*).

I disagree, they ought to grow some balls and strike him from the record books. Not a great signal to send out to future aspiring players - use drugs and get in the record books doesn't sound like a great message to me.

that would work too. it's just that, i've heard so much about how bonds did this, or how bonds did that, i wish that he'd hurry up and retire.
