If you look at the achievements, 2 of them totalling 150 points have the words "download stages" so I assume there will be some DLC when it's released. I guess the other 100 comes from a secret achievement.

Good find! I only saw the first two and was trying to figure it out. I can't wait for this game to come out now. Hope the secret achievements aren't too hard.

His point was they might have the full 1250 available from the start, or it will be stuck at 1000/1250 until they release the DLC, Whereas previously, they didn't even announce what the DLC achievements were until the DLC was ready. It would suck knowing what the achievements are, but not being able to obtain them.

And I think people should question downloadable content BEFORE a game's release cause surely they could just put that in the game and not separate it and charge us for it!!!

That's what I was thinking. I mean, if it's done there would be no harm in putting it in the game. I can understand things like Oblivion or Guitar Hero which I've seen people complain about because they're pleasing both markets by releasing the game when it's done then working on new bits. But working on new bits before finishing the game just makes the company seem greedy, the only reason I can see for doing it is for the extra cash.

Well, the game will retail for $40, so even if the DLC is $20 (which I HIGHLY doubt), it's still not breaking the typical $60 price tag.

It is the mind set of the publishers/developers though. First this game and then the next one at full retail price will be doing it. It is also another loop hole round the whole 1000 achievement points per game which I don't think is fair.

Indeed, you definitely have a point there.

I'm neither accusing nor defending, but felt the need to point that out.

I'm very curious to see what unfolds from this.

:pdude i think that maybe when the game's released that the DLC Will be coming out at the same time which is why they said 1250 but i could be wrong this is just my opinion

Maybe the DLC is free? Thats a 1/100 chance though.

We can only hope. Maybe that is how they are making the game 1250 by making the DLC free.

DLC or not, I really don't care. I'm getting it for the game and not for the achievements. If a DLC is out on the first day, I'll def. buy it. Either way, good achievements for this game.

I'm against any DLC that is required for achievements that isn't free (a la Crackdown) especially, as stated, before the game is released. How soon is it before we are given a $29.99 Madden 09 with no teams and each team costs 300MS?

That's going to be real annoying if you can only get the 1000 at first when we know what the achievements are for the additional 250. Hopefully the DLC is able to be obtained from the very beginning.

I would like to believe the dlc is free, but the fact is microsoft will put a price tag on it either way. I'm just glad we don't have to download full games yet. Everyone thinks without the disc and all the materials used downloading would be cheaper... I think Microsoft would slap another 10bucks a game and double their profit.
