No mention of if it uses GFWL or not though & retail version of the same game does use GFWL so I would expect the Steam version to also but the store page does not mention it so buyer beware incase they have removed GFWL (unlikely but you never know!).

I don't think it does, sadly. There is no mention of it on the store page and a guy had a look in the Battle vs Chess folder but couldn't find anything related to GFWL. The actual game isn't working yet (gets stuck requesting a key) so we can't know for sure.

*It has now been pulled from the store. Who knows what's going on with it.

Topware via Amazon UK are selling the retail version cheap which does have GFWL. This has been stuck in a legal nightmare for a few years which is why its taken so long to reach Steam as the Battle vs Chess name in US is being challenged by someone (Zenimax or Interplay I think).

This game is the daily deal on Steam, but don't get excited - according to Steam Forums, this version of the game has GFWL removed, which means no cheevos.
