If you make someone explode, are they out completely or does a new robot simply replace them?

FWIW, it's an entry-level robot (I think it's plastic for each position), so if you've upgraded one, try not to let him blow up - upgrade him again before he dies.

One strategy you can use to help with that is to choose formations that minimize or eliminate his involvement: if it's a power back, choose a play without one; if it's a WR, choose a play with multiple WRs, and so on.
